Minister Nguyen Kim Son attended the groundbreaking ceremony of an inter-level boarding school in Lai Chau.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were also representatives of leaders and working delegations of ministries and branches: Finance, Construction, Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Military Region 2 Command. On the Lai Chau side, there were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches of Lai Chau province, Commune People's Committee, along with teachers and students of Hua Bum and Dao San communes.

The investment project to build the Hua Bum and Dao San Inter-level Boarding School (PTNT) under the "Project of 100 Inter-level Boarding Schools in Border Communes" was started in 2025 according to the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes.

The project is invested in an area of about 6.2 hectares/school; each school has 30 classes, serving about 1,000 students; group B project, level III project, total investment of over 200 billion for each project.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Luong, Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The boarding and semi-boarding school model in the area plays an important role in nurturing, educating and comprehensively developing ethnic minority students, mobilizing students to attend classes, and achieving the goal of improving the quality of comprehensive education.

Implementing the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 298/NQ-CP of the Government, in 2025, Lai Chau province will start construction of 5 schools. The remaining 6 schools will start construction in 2026. The province has directed to conduct surveys to select suitable locations and land areas, ensure traffic infrastructure, electricity, water, telecommunications, arrange funds for compensation, site clearance and other necessary conditions so that when capital is available, construction will start.

To effectively implement and ensure progress, Mr. Le Van Luong requested the project investors to urgently complete investment preparation procedures; departments, branches and sectors to coordinate with local authorities to review, select and agree on suitable locations according to land use planning and construction planning as a basis for measurement and site clearance; People's Committees of communes continue to carry out propaganda and mobilize people to create high consensus in the implementation process...

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son affirmed: “The policy of investing in building boarding schools in border communes is a major decision, with profound political, social and humanistic significance, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to the people in the border areas of the Fatherland, especially to teachers and students. This is a key and urgent political task in socio-economic development and implementing the policy of great national unity to improve people's knowledge, train human resources, create a source of local cadres in border areas, care for the material and spiritual life of people in border areas, contributing to strengthening national defense and security”.

Along with investing in school construction, the Ministry of Education and Training is maintaining and coordinating with ministries and branches to build policies and mechanisms on operations and regimes for teachers and students, ensuring effective operation.

Minister Nguyen Kim Son requested localities, ministries and branches to continue to coordinate, allocate sufficient capital, speed up construction progress, and complete the plan on schedule so that schools can soon come into operation, contributing to narrowing regional gaps, improving people's knowledge, strengthening national defense, security and sustainable development of border areas.

Give scholarships to students in difficult circumstances.

On this occasion, Minister Nguyen Kim Son presented gifts and 2,000 books to the libraries of schools in Hua Bum and Dao San communes. The provincial scholarship fund, the provincial police, and the Lai Chau provincial Border Guard Command also presented many gifts and scholarships to the people and students of Hua Bum commune.
