This morning in the border area, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Dinh Phong Primary and Secondary Boarding School began simply but sacredly as a promise to the future. Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
Building "knowledge milestones" on the border

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony at the main bridge: Yen Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Thanh Hoa Province. Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son attended at Lai Chau bridge.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony in Dinh Phong commune were Mr. Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders of central ministries, departments and branches. Representing Cao Bang province was Mr. Quan Minh Cuong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, together with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches and localities.


Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh affirmed the importance of building inter-level boarding schools and requested Cao Bang province to consider this a key political task, resolutely direct the work of preparing land, infrastructure, and capital disbursement, ensuring the right progress - right quality - right law; absolutely not allowing negativity and waste to occur.
Cao Bang Provincial Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong said: Today's groundbreaking ceremony is a vivid demonstration of the attention of the Central Government and Cao Bang Province to the cause of education and training. Cao Bang will make every effort to make each school in the border area truly become a second home for students of all ethnic groups.
A groundbreaking ceremony, millions of hearts touched
In areas with favorable socio-economic conditions, starting a school may be a normal thing. But in the border area, where the road to school is marked with footprints and soaked with sweat of many generations of students, this is a great event and the meaning of building a new school touches millions of hearts across the country.
In Dinh Phong commune, many people came to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony. Children dressed in beautiful clothes, old people with canes stood on the mountainside looking down, following every move of the working group.

Mr. Nong Van Thuc, a Tay ethnic, Party Cell Secretary of Pac Phiao - Pac Thay - Doong Doa hamlet, Dinh Phong commune, said: "The new school is like having another roof over our village. Our children have a place to study and live, and don't have to go far. That's the happiest thing, journalist."
For Dinh Phong commune, the inter-level boarding school is built on a 5-hectare land plot, with a design closely following the model of the Ministry of Construction. Of which, the construction floor area is about 2 hectares, the construction area is 0.8 hectares. The school has 32 classes for both primary and secondary school, with a total of 1,120 students. The total investment is 210 billion VND.
Like other schools starting construction on this occasion, Dinh Phong Primary and Secondary Boarding School will have full facilities, equipment, learning tools, sports areas, practice and experience areas, etc. and a team of qualified staff, teachers and employees to "breathe life" into well-rounded students.
Ms. Nong Ngoc Huynh, Principal of Dinh Phong Secondary School, Dinh Phong Commune, shared emotionally: "We are very happy that the students have better learning conditions. We promise to do our best to meet the training requirements when the school is completed and put into operation."
Hoang Thi Phuong Thao, a 9th grade student at Dinh Phong Secondary School, shyly said: "I believe that when this new school is completed, ethnic minority students in border areas like us will be able to study in a better environment, to reach our dreams."

The groundbreaking ceremony simultaneously realized a major policy of the Politburo on investing in the construction of primary and secondary boarding schools in 248 land border communes.
In the immediate future, the whole country will pilot investment to complete the construction or renovation of 100 schools by 2025. Each school is systematically planned, ensuring the best learning and boarding conditions for about 1,000 students, with a scale of 30 classes, on a minimum area of 5 hectares.
A newly built school is not only a construction project, but also the beginning of dreams. From those warm schools of teacher-student love, children in the border areas will have more opportunities to study, practice and grow up, becoming a new generation of citizens in the homeland, carrying with them intelligence, courage and a soul full of identity, contributing to building a homeland that is increasingly sustainable and happy.
