At the scene, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh listened to a report on the prolonged rain and floods over the past few days that have flooded some areas in the Imperial Citadel, especially around Ngo Mon Gate, affecting the landscape, technical infrastructure and conservation activities. Authorities, conservation officers and local people have proactively mobilized pumps, sandbags and flood-prevention materials to protect the structures, while ensuring the safety of visitors and artifacts.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh encouraged the forces overcoming the consequences of floods at Hue Imperial City.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh praised the proactive and prompt spirit of the city government and the conservation team in responding to natural disasters and minimizing damage to heritage. At the same time, he emphasized that the Complex of Hue Monuments is a World Cultural Heritage, so protecting royal structures in extreme weather conditions must be given top priority, especially items related to drainage, waterproofing, foundation reinforcement and preservation of artifacts.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Hue City and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to conduct a comprehensive review of areas vulnerable to floods and storms, develop long-term response plans to adapt to climate change, and closely coordinate with central ministries and branches in implementing appropriate technical solutions for heritage areas.

Forces are working to clean up the environment.

Mr. Mai Van Chinh also requested units to continue focusing on quickly overcoming the consequences, cleaning the environment, draining water, ensuring early reopening to serve visitors; at the same time ensuring absolute safety for the task force and people in the complicated weather conditions.
