On behalf of the President and Prime Minister, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense , presented the decisions to Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien.
Authorized by the President , General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, presented the decision to promote the rank of Major General to Lieutenant General for Deputy Commander of the Law of the Vietnam Coast Guard Vu Trung Kien.
At the same time, authorized by the Prime Minister , General Phan Van Giang also presented the decision to appoint Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard Law, to the position of Commander of the Border Guard.
On November 9, the Party Committee and Command of the Border Guard held a meeting to congratulate Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien, Commander of the Border Guard.
Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Border Guard, emphasized that Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien is an officer who has been associated with the Border Guard force for many years in various positions; has made many important contributions to the cause of managing and firmly protecting national sovereignty and border security and building the Border Guard force.
Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien expressed his honor and pride in being entrusted with the new responsibility by the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and Border Guard Party Committee and Command.
"I promise to continue to uphold and promote the heroic tradition of the Border Guard; constantly cultivate, train, promote the spirit of solidarity, unity, collective intelligence, and work with the entire force to excellently complete all assigned tasks in the position of Border Guard Commander," Lieutenant General Vu Trung Kien affirmed.
