Dien Ban Ward calls for support for boats and ships transporting food to flooded areas

DNO - On the afternoon of October 29, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, Chairwoman of Dien Ban Ward People's Committee, said that many flooded areas in the locality are currently unable to access food and water support due to a lack of boats for transport.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, on the morning of October 29, the City Military Command supported 2 canoes; the ward also rented a motorboat to transport goods, food, and drinking water to people in isolated areas.

However, compared to the needs and actual situation, the number of vehicles mentioned above is still too small, especially when flood water is forecast to rise on the night of October 29.

“We need as many boats and ships as possible because the floodwaters are forecast to continue rising tonight (October 29) and could last for days. Meanwhile, people in many areas are in dire need of urgent support in terms of food, water, medicine, and even transporting sick people for treatment,” Ms. Hang appealed.

As of 4:00 p.m. the same day, most areas of Dien Ban ward were completely isolated by floodwaters, so the only way to access them was by boat.

Any individual or organization wishing to support or rent boats for Dien Ban ward to help people, can contact phone number: 0982.946.115, meet Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang.
