Dong Hoa Ward arranges storm shelter area Kalmaegi for people

To cope with the approaching Kalmaegi storm, the People's Committee of Dong Hoa ward surveyed areas at risk of landslides and flooding and made plans to arrange flood shelters for people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hung Anh Kiet, Vice Chairman of Dong Hoa Ward People's Committee, in the ward there are 2 areas at risk of landslides: Dong Thanh quarter (Tan Dao residential area) and Ban Nham Nam quarter (Da Dung residential area).

6 areas at risk of flooding include Dong Thanh quarter (Tan Dao residential area), Canh Phuoc quarter (Total 8 residential area), Nam Binh 1 quarter, Ban Nham Nam quarter, quarter 5, Phuoc Luong quarter (Total 17 residential area near Ban Thach river).

The neighborhood cultural house is a safe place for people to avoid floods in case of emergency.

Currently, the Dong Hoa Ward Civil Defense Command has arranged concentrated flood shelter areas for people in case of flood reaching level 3 or higher. These areas include Chu Van An Primary School, Le Quy Don Primary School, Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School, and cultural houses of the neighborhoods. These areas can accommodate from 1,135 to 7,220 people.

Along with that, the People's Committee of Dong Hoa ward allocated nearly 30 million VND to purchase equipment for storm prevention such as raincoats, flashlights, generators, warning signs in dangerous areas...
