Speaking with Thanh Nien at noon on December 25, the leader of the Compensation and Site Clearance Board of District 12 (HCMC) said that after 5 days of paying compensation to people in the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal project, the unit had disbursed nearly 190 billion VND.
The project to build infrastructure and renovate Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal passing through District 12 has a total length of 8 km, affecting 180 cases with a reclaimed area of nearly 15.4 hectares.
In phase 1, the locality paid compensation to 104 cases in 4 wards of Thoi An, Thanh Loc, Thanh Xuan, An Phu Dong with a total amount of nearly 440 billion VND. The compensation payment was made by the district from December 21. As of noon on December 25, the locality had paid compensation to 43 households with a total amount of 187 billion VND.

The leader of the Compensation and Site Clearance Board of District 12 said that people who came to receive compensation were excited and happy because the compensation price was relatively close to the market transaction price.
Accordingly, the compensation price for residential land ranges from 22.5 - 71.7 million VND/ m2 , the highest being residential land on Ha Huy Giap Street. The price for agricultural land ranges from 5 - 8 million VND/ m2 .
The locality strives to pay all households that have compensation plans by the end of December 2023. For the remaining 76 cases, District 12 plans to approve the second compensation plan by the end of February 2024.
Project to renovate Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal section through District 12 and Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City
The entire Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal route is nearly 32 km long, passing through 7 districts of Ho Chi Minh City including: District 12, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Tan Binh, Go Vap, Binh Thanh and Binh Chanh.
The project has a total investment capital of about 8,200 billion VND from the budget, invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board. The revival of the longest canal in the city will be carried out from February 2023, striving to be completed by April 30, 2025.
