Promote tourism through discovering unique local cuisine

Vietnam is a country with many unique values ​​in terms of natural landscapes and cultural heritage, of which cuisine is one of the outstanding factors that attract tourists to experience. Vietnamese cuisine is rich and diverse, a harmonious combination of a long-standing culture with abundant and rich sources of ingredients, along with processing methods and regional flavors.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoa, Director of Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, spoke at the program.

2023 marks an important milestone in the strategic cooperation between the Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the MAGGI brand, Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. with the successful implementation of the Project "Variation of thousands of ingredients, cooking millions of Vietnamese dishes". Many meaningful activities have been implemented within the framework of the project to promote Vietnamese tourism - cuisine - culture, including: promoting culinary tourism communication on online platforms, applying technology to support culinary tourism promotion, organizing events, participating in culinary festivals... In particular, the activity of launching and setting the record for the Online Map with the largest number of Vietnamese dishes contributed by the community, awarded by the Vietnam Record Organization (VietKings), has demonstrated the program's appeal to the general public.

Following the success of the 2023 cooperation program, on October 1, 2024, the Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and MAGGI brand, Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. continued to announce the 2024 cooperation program with many new and attractive highlights.

The theme of this year's series of activities is "Exploring golden ingredients, making Vietnamese cuisine famous". If 2023 is a journey to discover famous dishes on the Vietnamese culinary map, then in 2024, the program focuses on exploiting "rough gems" which are unique local ingredients that are not yet known to many people. Thereby contributing to honoring the diversity of Vietnamese culinary culture, developing tourism through new experiences from variations of local ingredients.

The main activity of the program is to continue upgrading the online culinary map platform version 2.0 with a new interface and many new features, promising to become a culinary database that continuously updates the quantity and information about ingredients and recipes contributed by local people. By participating and experiencing this new version of the online map, the public not only contributes to promoting unique local ingredients and recipes, but also has the opportunity to learn and experience specialties of regions across the country, thereby understanding and appreciating the value of diversity and richness in Vietnamese cuisine.

In particular, the 2024 program will bring to the public practical experiences of local ingredients and typical dishes through a series of activities in collaboration with KOLs (famous people with influence on social networks) to promote Vietnam's rich cuisine to tourists, contributing to strengthening Vietnam's unique culinary tourism brand.

Mr. Tran Duy Vu, Director of Food Industry of Nestlé Vietnam, said: "MAGGI brand not only accompanies every Vietnamese meal but also wishes to contribute to enhancing the experience of Vietnamese culinary tourism, spreading positive values ​​through dishes and rich local ingredients. The first phase of the project "Variation of thousands of ingredients, cooking millions of Vietnamese dishes" in cooperation with the Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has brought very positive results and MAGGI brand will continue to cooperate strategically in 2024 to join hands in promoting culinary tourism with the theme "Exploring golden ingredients, making Vietnamese cuisine famous". This year's series of activities will have many creative highlights to call for contributions and enrich the online culinary map, thereby bringing Vietnamese culinary identity to people across the country and the world, promoting the tourism potential of provinces and cities, positioning Vietnam as a colorful and unique destination on the tourism map and world cuisine".

Hai Phong crab noodle soup is considered by the locals as the soul of the cuisine of the port city. Not only has it existed for a long time, this dish also contains a unique part of the culture of the tourist land of Hai Phong from the past to the present. Through many ups and downs, crab noodle soup is still closely associated with the life and spirit of the people here.

According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoa, Director of the Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism: "Enhancing the application of technology and digital transformation in tourism communication and promotion activities is one of the key orientations of the tourism industry. The Tourism Information Center, as the focal point of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in implementing communication, promotion and digital transformation activities in the tourism sector, will continue to cooperate closely with partners in the industry to promote these activities. Promoting the very positive cooperation results between the Tourism Information Center and the MAGGI brand, Nestlé Vietnam Company in the past time, in 2024, the two sides will implement many new activities through promoting the application of digital technology and online communication activities to strongly promote Vietnamese cultural and culinary values ​​to the public, thereby contributing to promoting tourism through attractive culinary experiences".
