Promoting Dong Nai specialty fruits

The Dong Nai Province Agricultural Achievements Exhibition 2025 has just taken place at the Provincial Square Park with the participation of more than 300 booths displaying specialties and key products of all wards and communes in the province. Dong Nai has a large agricultural production area, in which the fruit tree industry group has a large area, bringing high economic value.

Dong Nai farmers, with their creative thinking and good skills in applying science and technology, have grown many unique specialty fruits that bring high value. In particular, the Dong Nai Agricultural Achievement Exhibition 2025 is an opportunity for cooperatives and farmers to introduce unique specialties of their gardens to consumers.

Variety of specialty fruits

The diversity and abundance of fresh fruit products displayed and introduced at the Dong Nai Agricultural Achievement Exhibition is the highlight attracting the attention of consumers. Many localities also choose new fruit specialties to create highlights for the display booth.

Mr. Vo Van Tai of the Farmers' Association of Loc Thanh commune introduced: Participating in the exhibition, the locality introduced many strong agricultural products such as products from jelly leaves, pineapple, grapefruit... Among them, the "unique" fruit specialty that attracted the attention of consumers was the date palm. This is a new local specialty, attracting farmers to invest; among them, some gardeners have successfully tested growing this crop originating from North Africa and the Middle East. Currently, some date palm gardens have been harvested, the fruit has a beautiful appearance and good quality. Therefore, the locality chose this specialty fruit to promote to consumers inside and outside the province.

The agricultural stall of Nghia Trung commune impressed visitors by introducing many specialties of the mountains and forests such as: water spinach, bamboo shoots, wild banana seeds. In addition, fresh local fruits including: golden star apple, custard apple, grapefruit, melon… also attracted the attention of consumers.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Nam, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Nghia Trung Commune, said: The commune has now expanded about 10 hectares of golden star apple. Many gardeners are harvesting with good yields. The commune chose this as one of the outstanding products to make gift baskets to participate in the Beautiful Gift Basket Contest at the Dong Nai Agricultural Achievement Exhibition with the desire to promote to a large number of consumers the delicious local fruit specialties.

Promote delicious and safe fruit

Most of the products honored as typical agricultural products in 2025 are fresh fruit specialties grown in the province. Among them are specialties that are famous in the market such as: orange-leaf pomelo and Tan Trieu green-skin pomelo... which have been granted geographical indication protection certificates.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Vuong, Director of Vuong Huong Trading and Service Company Limited (in Tan Trieu Ward) said: The company has linked farmers to form areas for growing orange-leaf pomelos and green-skin pomelos according to VietGAP and organic processes. The company's products have also achieved 4-star OCOP (One Commune One Product) certification, contributing to spreading the brand of local specialty fruits. In addition to traditional distribution channels, the company actively participates in trade promotion activities, promotes and sells on e-commerce channels or social networks so that hometown specialties can reach all parts of the country.

Not only do farmers invest in growing specialty fruit trees, many localities also attract businesses to invest on a large scale, meeting the export market well.

Mr. Thach Ni, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Thuan Loi commune, introduced local fruits that bring high economic efficiency such as: tangerines, grapefruits, durians, oranges, melons, golden star apples, bananas for export, etc. The advantage of the commune is attracting businesses to invest in large-scale, systematic production farms, applying science and technology in safe production. Local fruit specialties are not only sold to many provinces and cities across the country but also supplied to the export market.

According to Mr. Thach Ni, participating in the Dong Nai Agricultural Achievement Exhibition 2025, fresh fruit products are of great interest to consumers, who are looking for information about production areas. The exhibition is a good opportunity for localities in the province to promote and introduce specialties widely to urban consumers.

The booth of Viet Farm Trading Company Limited (in Xuan Loc commune) with its products of yellow passion fruit and organic melon also attracted many consumers to visit and buy. The enterprise invested in a farm that produced according to organic processes, applying high technology by making its own clean soil to grow plants in greenhouses by using heat-treated sand to eliminate pathogens and fungi mixed with organic fertilizers.

Mr. Tran Quang Tinh, Director of Viet Farm Trading Company Limited, said: The company's products have been tested and all meet the organic vegetable and fruit samples, with no inorganic fertilizers detected. The company's desire is to produce delicious, safe products to supply the domestic market with more than 100 million people and a lot of potential.
