On November 8, information from the Office of the People's Council of Quang Binh province said that from the beginning of November, the province has provided support to medical staff in villages and hamlets, and midwives in villages and hamlets to encourage this team in implementing epidemic prevention activities; primary medical examination and treatment, and maternal and child health care at the grassroots level.
Previously, at the end of October 2024, at the 18th Session, the People's Council of Quang Binh province, term XVIII, 2021-2026, passed a Resolution stipulating the support level for village and hamlet health workers and village and hamlet midwives in the province.
Thus, after the resolution on allocating local budgets to allocate funds to socio- political organizations at the commune level and supporting people directly participating in activities in villages, hamlets and residential groups from 2024, Quang Binh province continues to issue a resolution to support monthly funding for medical staff and midwives in villages and hamlets. This is a deep concern and sharing with the difficulties of grassroots cadres in performing their duties, which is highly appreciated by public opinion.
According to the above resolution, from the beginning of November 2024, for village midwives; village and hamlet health workers (in villages with 350 or more households and residential groups with 500 or more households) will be supported with 0.5 times the basic salary/month.
For medical staff in the remaining villages and hamlets, support is equal to 0.3 times the basic salary/month.
Currently, Quang Binh province has 1,123 village, hamlet, and residential group health workers, including 128 village midwives. The estimated annual budget to support the total number of village health workers and village midwives in the province is nearly 11.2 billion VND/year.
According to the representative of the leader of the Culture-Social Committee of the People's Council of Quang Binh province, the team of village and hamlet health workers and village midwives play an important role in communication work and health care for people right in the community.
However, currently in Quang Binh, the team of village and hamlet health workers and village midwives have not received any benefits or policies. Therefore, to encourage this team to do their job well in implementing epidemic prevention activities; medical examination and treatment, primary health care and maternal and child health care for the people in the area, implementing a support policy for these subjects is very necessary and highly humane.
