On the afternoon of February 20, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province held a conference to announce the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council and the decision of the Provincial People's Committee on the arrangement of organizational structure and personnel work.

Quang Nam merged, established many new departments and appointed department directors.

Accordingly, Quang Nam merged the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction into the Department of Construction. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Director of the Department of Construction (old) was appointed as the new Director of the Department of Construction.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam (48 years old, from Tam Dan commune, Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam province).

Mr. Tam has professional qualifications: Master of Civil Engineering, University of Construction, senior political and administrative theory.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam used to hold the position of Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Traffic Works of Quang Nam Province, Director of the Department of Construction (formerly) of Quang Nam Province.

Also at the conference, Quang Nam announced the merger of the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance into the Department of Finance, and appointed Mr. Nguyen Nhu Cong, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee, as Director of the Department.

Merge the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs into the Department of Home Affairs; merge the Department of Natural Resources and Environment with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development into the Department of Agriculture and Environment; merge the Department of Information and Communications with the Department of Science and Technology into the Department of Science and Technology.

Establish the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on the basis of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee receiving additional functions, tasks, and organization of the state management apparatus on beliefs and religions from the Department of Home Affairs.

Establishment of Quang Nam Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board on the basis of merging the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and the Provincial Agricultural Works Construction Investment Project Management Board.

This conference also announced the retirement decisions of 6 department directors and many leaders of provincial departments and branches.
