According to the latest V-League transfer news, Quang Nam FC is currently trialing a foreign striker with an impressive goal-scoring record. The Nigerian striker, Umar Abba, is currently playing for the Central Vietnam team in the Thien Long Cup friendly tournament.
In the first match, despite coming on as a substitute, the striker born in 2000 still managed to score one goal, helping coach Van Sy Son's team defeat Binh Dinh 2-0.
Before coming to Vietnam, Umar Abba was a fairly good striker in the Nigerian National League. In his last six appearances in the Nigerian National League before coming to Vietnam, Umar Abba scored in each of his matches for Gombe United and Lobi Stars. The 1.85m tall player also made two appearances in the African Cup of Nations for Plateau United in the 2019/2020 season.
Besides Umar Abba, Quang Nam FC is also trialing Alain Eyenga, a 1.90m tall central defender of Cameroonian nationality. The team from Quang Nam needs to find new foreign players for the next season after all three players, Eze, Conrado, and Yago Ramos, have left to join new clubs before the 2024/2025 season.
