Binh Minh Secondary School (Binh Minh Commune, Quang Ngai Province) was one of the schools that was deeply flooded by the rain and floods on October 29. By the morning of October 30, when the flood receded, a large amount of mud and soil had been left, covering the school yard and classrooms.

The mobile police force of Battalion 1, South Central Mobile Police Regiment ( Ministry of Public Security ) has been mobilized to help people respond to and overcome the consequences of floods.
Major Nguyen Minh Hai, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 1, said: "After receiving orders from the Regiment Command, the unit deployed to Binh Minh Secondary School, sending 50 officers and soldiers to participate in overcoming the consequences caused by floods, cleaning up the school grounds, desks, chairs, equipment, ensuring students return to school as soon as possible."

The soldiers divided into groups and started cleaning up with the teachers. Some shoveled mud, some carried tables and chairs, and some wiped the classrooms.

Ms. Pham Thi Minh Cam, Principal of Binh Minh Secondary School, said: “Before the floodwaters rose, the school proactively moved all equipment to higher ground. However, the floodwaters still caused about half a meter of water to inundate classrooms and office buildings, causing damage to facilities. When the flood receded, the schoolyard and classrooms were covered with a layer of mud nearly 10cm thick. Fortunately, this morning, Battalion 1 forces were present, coordinating with teachers to urgently clean up the school. At the earliest tomorrow (October 31), students can return to school as usual.”

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Head of the Economic Department, Binh Minh Commune People's Committee, said: "Currently, in Binh Minh Commune, there are nearly 300 people including police, soldiers, militia and shock troops in the villages, simultaneously deploying the work to overcome the consequences of the flood. The units focus on prioritizing cleaning and sanitation in key areas such as medical stations, markets, schools, martyr cemeteries and main roads, in order to soon stabilize the lives and activities of the people."
* Also on the morning of October 30, armed forces and people of Dong Tra Bong commune participated in overcoming landslides in hamlets 2 and 3, Dong Tra Bong commune.
