Quang Ngai: Considering investing 350 billion VND to upgrade and purchase medical equipment

On July 7, Mr. Dang Van Minh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, signed a document to send to the People's Council of this province to consider and issue a resolution and decision on the investment policy for the project to repair, renovate, upgrade and construct facilities and purchase medical equipment for the Quang Ngai health sector.

The current state of the provincial health sector's infrastructure has been seriously degraded. Many hospitals and medical centers in Quang Ngai have not been repaired or upgraded for many years, and medical equipment is still lacking compared to regulations. Many machines serving medical examination and treatment are now damaged, no longer usable, and do not meet the requirements for medical examination and treatment for the people. Given this situation, investment in repairing, renovating, upgrading and constructing infrastructure and purchasing medical equipment for the provincial health sector is necessary.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has decided to invest 350 billion VND from the excess revenue and the provincial budget to implement the investment project to repair, renovate, upgrade and construct facilities and purchase medical equipment for the health sector.

The project is invested by the Quang Ngai Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, with implementation period from 2023 to 2026, with 2 phases, specifically:

- Phase 1 (from 2023 - 2024), carry out repairs, renovations, upgrades and construction of facilities of Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Tuberculosis and Lung Hospital, Mental Hospital, Quang Ngai City Medical Center, and repair of the office of Quang Ngai Department of Health.

At the same time, purchase medical equipment for Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital, Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, Mental Hospital, Son Tinh District Medical Center and Quang Ngai City Medical Center.

Phase 2, carry out investment in construction and purchase of remaining equipment when competent authority allocates capital for implementation.

The investment locations are medical facilities located in the districts of Binh Son, Son Ha, Tra Bong, Ba To, Nghia Hanh, Mo Duc, Son Tay, Son Tinh, Minh Long, Tu Nghia, Duc Pho town and Quang Ngai city.
