Quang Ninh invests in 5 inter-level boarding schools in 5 border communes

Up to now, after the two-level local government has been operating stably and effectively, Quang Ninh province now has 9 land border communes and wards, including 6 communes: Hoanh Mo, Luc Hon, Binh Lieu, Duong Hoa, Quang Duc and Hai Son; 3 wards: Mong Cai 1, 2 and 3.

According to the plan, Quang Ninh province will have 5 newly invested inter-level boarding schools including: Dong Tam Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Luc Hon commune), Quang Son Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Duong Hoa commune), Quang Duc Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Quang Duc commune), Binh Lieu Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Binh Lieu commune) and Hoanh Mo Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Hoanh Mo commune).

In Hai Son commune alone, the survey results show that the demand for boarding students is low due to relatively favorable travel conditions. However, the school's current facilities are not uniform, many items are degraded. Therefore, the locality has a plan to invest in building new items according to regulations, ensuring that students in the commune have enough conditions to study and live in day boarding.

Mr. Dinh Ngoc Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province, said that the selection of 5 border communes to build inter-level boarding schools was based on actual conditions and necessary needs for studying and boarding of students in border areas that had been reviewed and reported by the locality and the province's interdisciplinary inspection team had inspected and agreed on the proposal.

Investment plans are built in the direction of inheriting existing infrastructure, combining new construction, renovation, and synchronous expansion of functions, facilities, and technical infrastructure, meeting the requirements of studying, living, boarding, and other guaranteed conditions. The arrangement and merger of primary and secondary schools in border communes is consistent with the policy of rearranging public educational institutions according to the 2-level local government model.

The People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has also directed departments, branches, units and localities to complete documents, procedures and investment plans to submit to competent authorities for consideration according to regulations, striving to complete the projects in 2026.

The policy of investing in 5 inter-level boarding schools in 5 land border communes of Quang Ninh province in the period of 2025-2026 according to the Notice of Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthrough in education and training development along with the directions of the Central Government and the province is a major decision, with profound political-social and humanistic significance, aiming to consolidate the education system in border areas, linking education development with the task of ensuring national defense and security, and sustainable development of border areas.
