Implementing the policy of the Politburo and the Central Military Commission, our army and people launched the Central Highlands campaign (March 4 - April 3, 1975), winning a glorious victory. After a month of continuous fighting, our army and people destroyed and disintegrated the 2nd Corps - Military Region 2 of the Saigon army, removing from combat more than 28,000 enemies, capturing and destroying 154 aircraft, 1,096 military vehicles, 17,188 guns of various types; liberating the Central Highlands provinces and some central coastal provinces.

The victory of the Central Highlands campaign was the result of the creative application of the Party's military line, Ho Chi Minh's military ideology and Vietnamese military art. That victory created a fundamental change in the balance of forces and strategic position in our favor, while the enemy was strategically weakened and disintegrated, leading to clustering and passive response on the battlefields.

The victory in the Central Highlands opened up the opportunity for a strategic general offensive, creating a decisive turning point, and beginning the Great Victory of Spring 1975, liberating the South and unifying the country.
