On March 27, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee held an online meeting to review the direction and management of socio -economic development in the first quarter and deploy key tasks in the second quarter of 2024. According to the report, the socio-economic situation in the province in the first quarter of 2024 remained stable, the gross domestic product (GRDP) increased by 8.12%; the construction, trade, tourism, energy, and industrial sectors increased quite well; the agricultural and rural economy remained stable; some industrial processing and manufacturing products are recovering, new production capacity is effective; investment promotion and attraction work is being promoted. The breakthrough in renewable energy continues to be effective, contributing 2.84% of the province's GRDP; the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 16.71%, the highest increase in the past 5 years. Total state budget revenue is estimated at 1,207 billion VND. Concluding the meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the efforts of the sectors and levels that contributed to achieving the results in the first quarter; in addition to the tasks and solutions for implementation in the second quarter of 2024 mentioned in the report; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: To achieve the annual growth target of 11-12%, in the second quarter of 2024, the province's GRDP growth rate must reach 12% or more. He requested that sectors, localities and units continue to strictly implement the Resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Council on the socio-economic development plan for 2024, with the spirit of "clearer work, closer follow-up, and further acceleration"; for unclear and difficult tasks, we must meet together to find solutions and unify actions and ensure "speed, closeness, and determination". Closely follow the scenarios, proactively grasp the situation to orient and make timely adjustments in each specific industry group and field, propose feasible solutions, suitable to reality, especially determined to achieve growth in the second quarter, specifically: The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector strives to grow by 4.25%, contributing 1.16% to the overall growth of GRDP. The industry and construction sector strives for added value of VND 3,183 billion, increasing by 18.48% of GRDP, contributing 7.15% to the overall growth of GRDP; The service sector strives to increase by 10.29%, contributing 3.07% to the overall growth of GRDP; Product tax strives to increase by 10.93%, contributing 0.45% to the overall growth of GRDP. Regarding some specific tasks, Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to proactively deploy solutions to respond to the El Nino phenomenon; Focus on developing livestock farming, implementing deep sea farming pilot projects, creating new momentum and new factors for the agricultural sector.
