Billion-dollar foreign fund has new general director

(Dan Tri) - After 17 years with Dragon Capital, Mr. Le Anh Tuan was appointed as General Director from October 1.

On August 6, Dragon Capital Vietnam Fund Management Joint Stock Company (DCVFM) announced the decision to appoint Dr. Le Anh Tuan as General Director, officially starting October 1.

Previously, this position was held by Mr. Beat Schuerch (Swiss nationality). Mr. Beat joined Dragon Capital in 2010 as Deputy General Director in charge of operations and was appointed as CEO in December 2017.

Upon leaving his executive position, Mr. Beat will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Dragon Capital Group and DCVFM. He will also accompany the management team during the transition period and continue to contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the company.

In 2008, Dr. Le Anh Tuan joined Dragon Capital as Chief Economist . In 2010, he became Director of Research, then was appointed Deputy Investment Director in 2016. In 2017, he served as Co-Portfolio Manager of the IPO and Private Placement Platform, before officially taking on the position of Chief Investment Officer (CIO) from January 2023.

In this role, he is responsible for the Investment Committee of all equity and fixed income funds managed by Dragon Capital.

He studied for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Willamette University (USA) and went on to earn a PhD in Economics at Pennsylvania State University, USA.

Dragon Capital is an investment fund management company that has been operating in Vietnam for more than 30 years, before the Vietnamese stock market was established. According to its introduction, this unit manages assets of more than 6 billion USD.
