Photographer Nguyen Ba Khoan (1917-1993) was one of the pioneering press photographers of our country.
He was a responsible journalist who held a camera when he witnessed and recorded many important events such as: President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, the first National Assembly sessions of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, simple daily images of Uncle Ho and the people, or the images of "determination to die for the Fatherland" in 1946...

The book gathers many typical photos, each one encapsulating a part of history. Viewers can feel the solemnity and sacredness of the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and at the same time feel close and moved by Uncle Ho's gentle smile, or the images of soldiers and compatriots during the resistance war.
