Georgina revealed the happy news via a post on her personal Instagram account, featuring a picture of her engagement ring studded with a huge diamond.

The superstar couple had been together for nine years, but Ronaldo had previously hesitated to propose.

The former Spanish model captioned the photo of her hand, with the engagement ring on her ring finger, placed on CR7's hand: " Yes. For this life and for the rest of my life."

Late last year, while attending the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, Ronaldo caused a stir with his statement:

"It's an honor to win this title. My eldest son is here, and my wife Georgina is also here."

Sharing the reason why he hasn't married his girlfriend, who is 9 years younger than him, in a previous interview, Ronaldo stated:

"I always tell Georgina, 'There will come a time when we find common ground.' Like everything in our lives, and she understands what I'm talking about."

It could be a year, six months, or maybe just a month. I'm 1000 percent sure it will happen..."

Ronaldo and Georgina have two daughters, Alana (7 years old) and Bella (3 years old). She is currently also raising the Portuguese striker's three other children: Cristiano Jr (15 years old), Mateo (8 years old), and Eva Maria (8 years old).
