During the historic days of April, the joyful atmosphere, patriotism and national pride filled the streets, from urban areas, town centers to every village and hamlet. Immediately after the policy of the District People's Committee, Mr. Xa Van Huy, Head of Doi Hamlet, Hien Luong Commune, Da Bac District, organized a meeting with the people, implemented the plan to build a national flag road and received high consensus from the people. The plan was implemented from mid-February 2025, but by the beginning of March, Doi Hamlet was filled with the brilliant red color of the national flag along both sides of the road. The movement was enthusiastically supported by the people, with socialized funding contributed by households in the hamlet and businesses located in the area.
In Thung Nai commune, Cao Phong district, there is a 9km long national flag street with 817 flagpoles spread across 5 hamlets: Nai, Moi, Tien, Mu, Chieng, built from socialized funds contributed by people, officials, party members and businesses. These days, on all the streets of Hoa Binh city, the joyful and excited atmosphere of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country is spreading strongly. On the central streets of the city such as Tran Hung Dao, Thinh Lang Boulevard or the bridges across the Da River, the red flags with yellow stars are all over the place, creating a brilliant and proud scene. At the foot of residential areas and collective areas, rows of national flags are hung in neat rows, shading small roads, creating brilliant flag streets in the heart of the city. Without waiting to be mobilized or reminded, people proactively hang flags in front of their houses, decorating the small streets where they live with the bright colors of the national flag, demonstrating a sense of community and deep national pride. Each flag is not only a sacred symbol of patriotism, but also a reminder of a period of arduous struggle to gain peace, independence and freedom for the nation - something that today, the people of Hoa Binh preserve and continue with the most practical and simple actions.
"Going out these days, I feel very proud and excited. The sacred red flag with yellow star is flying everywhere. Not only on the main roads but also in the small alleys, the roadside shops also hang flags to celebrate the great national holiday. I am very moved by the patriotic spirit of the people, and at the same time remind myself to always remember the merits of the previous generation to have the two beautiful words "Peace" like today", Ms. Chu Huong Giang (Tan Thinh ward, Hoa Binh city) shared.
The streets full of red flags have beautified the urban appearance, especially arousing patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility of each citizen, contributing to propagating andeducating traditions for generations, especially the young generation. Each flag fluttering in the wind is a reminder of the value of independence and freedom that our ancestors sacrificed to gain. The flag streets contribute to connecting the glorious past with the present, adding confidence and motivation for the people of Hoa Binh to continue writing new pages of history with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and aspiration to rise up.
