Youth-oriented culture
This year, the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has made a breakthrough step: Bringing the 2025 Sen Village Festival to Facebook and TikTok, while also assigning the "responsibility" of building the social media channel and the Festival's identity to a group of young people, all of whom belong to the Gen Z generation.
According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, the propaganda work of political and cultural events in the locality has long been traditional and has not really spread widely, especially to the young. The 2025 Sen Village Festival is a major event held on a national scale, in addition to expressing gratitude and honoring President Ho Chi Minh, it also wants to reach the younger generation, spread the cultural and historical values of the homeland and country and arouse national pride. Therefore, the industry has reached out to students with the desire to have breakthrough innovations in communication and increase attractiveness.
The Gen Z media team of the 2025 Lotus Village Festival consists of 12 members, except for one who has graduated from university, the rest are second-year students of the Diplomatic Academy and the Academy of Journalism and Communication. They come from many different provinces and cities and are all “leaders” with experience in implementing many media projects while still in school.

Team leader Vuong Tran Hue Minh (born in 2005, Diplomatic Academy) said that when she received the request to collaborate from the Organizing Committee of the Lotus Village Festival, Hue Minh was extremely surprised and worried, afraid that she was not capable enough to take on the responsibility. However, as a native of Nghe An who loves Uncle Ho and his hometown Nam Dan, with the spirit of volunteering and dedicating herself to the project, Hue Minh bravely accepted and "formed a team" to carry out the project.
“Our goal when communicating for the Sen Village Festival is to tell stories about the people and culture of Sen Village, about Uncle Ho’s homeland with a very “Gen Z” approach, but without losing cultural depth. From “jerky” effect videos to “emotional” articles – all are close and friendly, making young people not see culture as something lofty and strange, but as a part of themselves, of the place they grew up,” Hue Minh shared.
When “Gen Z” communicates politics
More than a month before the event, the young people started to build a new identity for the Festival and plan the communication. The group divided into 3 small groups to build 2 Facebook and Tiktok channels. The content group wrote the script and articles; the design group took care of the identity, banners, flags, and promotional posters; the media group was responsible for filming, post-processing photos and videos.

The communication plan follows many routes, from providing the most official and fastest information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to images, news articles, stories that evoke feelings of pride in Uncle Ho, in the nation... Through that, young people hope to not only be storytellers, but also preservers, bringing the Sen Village culture - from a concept full of heritage - into an experience that can be felt with all senses: seeing, hearing, touching, feeling.
The group has worked hard to create the video series “Sen Village People” with very attractive names: “Sen Tich Nhien Vang Cau Ho Vi Dam”, “Sen Village Mother”, “Sen Blooms in Uncle Ho’s Homeland” with “beautiful as a movie” camera angles to depict the typical features of the people, beauty and culture of Sen Village from a youthful perspective.
"I believe that culture is not only in museums - culture lives in every person: The characters chosen as spotlights, the sincere villagers, the simple moments of daily life put into clips and articles - will create the true soul of a festival. Not only "beautiful" in form, but also "real" and "alive"", according to Hue Minh.

The 2025 Lotus Village Festival Tiktok channel attracts many followers. |
“Cinematic” videos, check-in photo sets that caused a stir, viral clips about lotus, Uncle Ho’s hometown, or Vi Dam melodies, brown shirt colors, countryside colors… through a fresh perspective with music, the “trending” effect has created special interest among young people.
After more than a month of launching, the Lotus Village Festival 2025 fanpage currently has more than 10,000 followers, and Tiktok has more than 2,000 followers. Most of the videos are trending with hundreds of thousands of views, thousands of comments and shares. This is a significant number showing the new appeal on social networks from such an annual event with a history of decades.
Nguyen Hoang Ngan (born in 2005, Diplomatic Academy), the scriptwriter of the video “Sen Tich Nhien Vang Cau Ho Vi Dam”) confided: “We are very happy to have spread the beauty of Sen Village, of the warm and simple people of Nghe An, contributing to promoting the image of a sunny, windy and very friendly Nghe An. I hope that this Sen Village Festival can “touch” many people, contributing to spreading love for Uncle Ho and pride in the homeland and country”.
20 years old passion
The young people said that the project was very urgent, each person had their own job and had to study and work at the same time. Every time the group returned to Nam Dan to film, they were extremely quick, carrying the camera all day to "roll around" setting up, and at night they took the train to Hanoi. One member who had previously had an accident and had to get several stitches on his head still insisted on returning to work. Some were so tired that they even had nosebleeds. But everyone braved the sun and rain, were very dedicated, and paid attention to every detail.

Many group scenes were filmed in the fierce summer sun of Nghe An but everyone was excited. |
“When we returned to Nam Dan, it was April, the heat was starting to set in. It was the first time our friends had come to Nghe An and they suffered from heatstroke. The borrowed equipment was all hand-held, and they had to carry it everywhere, which was very heavy. Some of them said they had never felt so hot and tired, and had never sweated so much. Luckily, we were all supported by the uncles and aunts at Lang Sen and the Organizing Committee. Even though the script was sent out quite quickly, everyone gathered together and enthusiastically helped the group. There were many group scenes with dozens of people, everyone was sweating and standing in the sun to capture beautiful images,” Hue Minh said.
Nguyen Duy Thanh An, the author of the "very artistic" footage, added: "During the filming days, especially the first 3 days, the weather was hot and the filming was rushed, so we were all extremely tired. But every time I felt tired and read the messages and words of encouragement from the ladies and gentlemen, I pushed myself to multiply my strength by 100 to complete the work well."
Every time we post on Facebook or TikTok, the whole group “sits and waits” to see how many views we get and what people comment on. Even Nguyen Khanh Huyen – the person who edited the videos – cried with joy when she saw her videos receiving thousands of likes and shares.

Gen Z media group at the opening night of the 2025 Lotus Village Festival. |
“The 2025 Lotus Village Festival has come to an end. We have never been so proud of running an event. We are extremely grateful to the Organizing Committee for trusting us with the opportunity to contribute a small part in spreading the values of national cultural and historical heritage to young people in a unique way. This will be a particularly meaningful time in our 20-year-old journey,” Hue Minh shared.
One of the special marks of the Gen Z media group at the 2025 Lotus Village Festival is the very impressive event identity. Group leader Vuong Tran Hue Minh said that the group chose the image of a lotus flower with the main color being cool blue. To ensure copyright and avoid familiarity in the way the lotus is presented, all details in the identity were hand-drawn and edited for a whole month. The lotus aims for a blooming, round image, feeling both beautiful, solemn and festive, luxurious but still youthful, unmistakable.
Hoang Khanh Ngoc, the designer of the identity, said that at first, Ngoc had many difficulties not knowing where to start drawing, how to convey the content and spirit of Lang Sen to all ages. And inspired by some ancient paintings with the beauty of "pure Vietnamese" lotus flowers, all the details in the identity from lotus flowers or leaves, light... were hand-drawn by Ngoc, edited many times, no flower is the same.Source: https://baophapluat.vn/sac-mau-gen-z-trong-le-hoi-lang-sen-2025-post549468.html
