OCOP products of 5 regions gather in Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of October 27, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of the OCOP Product Week and Regional and Regional Specialty Products 2023.

The event took place over 3 days at Le Thi Rieng Park (District 10) to introduce, promote and boost supply-demand connections for businesses and production facilities of OCOP products to directly approach distribution businesses and consumers in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming for export. Attending the ceremony was Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Ngo Minh Chau.

The exhibition attracted 439 enterprises from 38 provinces and cities in 5 regions: Central Highlands, Mekong Delta, Southeast, North and North Central, South Central Coast. Out of a total of 1,200 participating products, OCOP has 756 products with 3-5 stars, 5-star OCOP products come from 3 provinces of Ben Tre , Kien Giang, Binh Phuoc; Ho Chi Minh City has 20 enterprises with 80 products...

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai Phu, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the week introduced, promoted and promoted supply-demand connections, directly approaching domestic and international distributors and consumers in the city.

The week creates conditions for businesses to cooperate in transferring scientific and technological advances in agriculture and rural development; visit and learn about effective and sustainable production models; invest in high-tech agricultural projects, associated with deep processing of specific agricultural products of provinces and cities. From there, products are upgraded from 3 stars to 4 stars, from 4 stars to 5 stars and aimed for export.

In addition, the Week also organized a conference to connect supply and demand of regional specialties and OCOP products in coordination with major distribution systems in the city to develop solutions to accompany, support and assist OCOP entities; promote the development of OCOP products towards perfecting production processes, green production, production according to market demand; not only connecting supply and demand but also accompanying market development, developing sustainable supply chains.
