On the afternoon of October 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies informed that the festival "Applying digital transformation to business activities, promoting and introducing typical OCOP products of Ho Chi Minh City through e-commerce - on social networking platforms" took place in Can Gio district for 3 days (from October 19 to 21) and reached 16 million people with more than 350,000 people watching the live sales session, earning more than 900 million VND.
The festival was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies in collaboration with the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), the Tiktok platform and the People's Committee of Can Gio district to accelerate the development of the digital economy and support OCOP model products, local businesses to access digital skills, and new ways of promoting OCOP product trade.

The festival brought together more than 80 KOCs, KOLs (consumers with great influence in the market), and Tiktokers to visit, experience, and sell products in Can Gio district. The event opened up prospects for strengthening connections and boosting promotional activities, advertising, and introducing OCOP products of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio to domestic and international people, creating a positive ripple effect on the potential of digital technology in society.

Ms. Phan Ngoc Dieu, Factory Manager of Can Gio Yen Dao Company, said that the company's products are currently achieving 4-star OCOP in Ho Chi Minh City. In the past, the government has supported the creation of direct sales sessions on e-commerce platforms to promote and sell products. Initially, OCOP products have been trusted and chosen by many people, and sales on e-commerce platforms have increased faster than traditional channels, with an average of more than 100 buyers each time.
Currently, departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City also support some e-commerce channels for free sales. Can Gio Bird Nest has been cooperating with Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade with the support of local departments and branches to research and develop scientific , quality, safe and effective bird nest products.

With 18 OCOP products, Mr. Truong Tien Trien, Vice Chairman of Can Gio District People's Committee, said that the festival has contributed to promoting Can Gio District's OCOP products to tourists. OCOP products will become gifts for tourists visiting Can Gio in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general. In 2023, the district is sending 22 more products for OCOP recognition, including tourism products.
Since achieving OCOP, products have been invested in more systematically than before, such as technology, machinery, and human resources. In addition to the district's efforts, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has supported the promotion of OCOP products of Can Gio district to participate in large supermarket distribution chains.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the country has more than 10,000 OCOP products, which are linked to local resources. In addition to the traditional market, TikTok will help OCOP entities expand their markets through e-commerce. Accordingly, OCOP products will be promoted on TikTok to the ASEAN and Chinese markets.
