Ready for the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024

The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 will take place from August 29 to 31 at Legend Danang Golf Resort (Ngu Hanh Son District). Preparations for the tournament and sideline activities are currently underway.

Attract many potential golfers

According to information from the Asian Tour, as of August 15, 131/144 international golfers registered for the tournament came from 24 countries and territories: Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, China, England, Saudi Arabia, India, Pakistan, America, New Zealand, Singapore, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Taiwan (China), Morocco, Australia, Scotland, Germany, France, Sweden, Canada, Spain, Ireland, Laos...

As the host, Vietnam has 20 places to attend the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024, including many of Vietnam's leading professional golfers at present such as Tran Le Duy Nhat, Truong Chi Quan, Nguyen Nhat Long, Nguyen Huu Quyet, Doan Van Dinh, Doan Van Nam, Tran Van Hoang, Nguyen Viet Ho and Le Huu Giang. According to the organizers, this is the first time golfers Tran Le Duy Nhat and Nguyen Viet Ho have competed at the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang; golfer Doan Van Nam is participating in the tournament for the second time, while the remaining professional golfers are all in their third season competing in the tournament.

Experts say that BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 is an event under the Asian Development Tour (ADT) system, attracting many talented golfers from all over the world . This is the "best" playground for Vietnamese professional golfers to compete and learn more experience from international friends. Over the past two seasons, a number of Vietnamese golfers have passed the qualifying round to enter the next round such as Nguyen Huu Quyet, Do Hong Giang, Doan Van Dinh and Truong Chi Quan (in 2022); Nguyen Nhat Long and Doan Van Dinh (in 2023). Therefore, the organizers expect that this year's season, the number of Vietnamese professional golfers passing the qualifying round at the tournament may increase compared to the previous two seasons.

According to Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, preparations for the tournament are currently being urgently implemented. To attract visitors to the tournament, the organizing committee plans to issue 4,500 electronic tickets (1,500 tickets/day), of which 3,000 tickets are for travel agencies, hotels, visitors arriving in Da Nang at the airport, and visitors registering online on the tournament's website. The city also organizes many sideline activities such as the Professional - Amateur Golf Exchange Tournament (Pro-Ams) (August 28) with the participation of about 132 people, including 33 professional golfers who are the seeds of the tournament and 99 amateur golfers, divided into 33 teams.

At the same time, the organization welcomed an international golf travel famtrip delegation (from August 27 to 30) consisting of 21 people representing travel agencies from the markets of Japan, Taiwan (China) and Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore) to survey tourism products and golf tourism service facilities in Da Nang . Members of the famtrip delegation will participate in experiencing Da Nang's services and destinations; attend the welcoming party for the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024; meet and connect with golf courses and travel companies in Da Nang to promote promotion and attract golfers to Da Nang.

Promote communication and advertising to attract golf tourists

To attract the attention of local people and domestic and international tourists to this event, the city and the organizing committee have stepped up communication and promotion activities on mass media. Including online communication of tournament information on the Asian Tour website; the Department of Tourism has launched a website (Vietnamese - English) updating information, images, and documents about the tournament at https://danangfantasticity.com/brg-open-golf-championship-danang. At the same time, the department has coordinated with Golfnews to launch a special page about the tournament on the website golfnews.vn... In the future, the city will continue to strengthen communication on channels and online accounts with international markets (Naver, Kakao of Korea; Xiaohongshu and Doujin of China); on the fanpage of the Vietnam Golf Association, Vietnam Golf Tourism Association. In order to diversify tourism products, Da Nang is promoting the attraction of golf tourism.

The BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2024 is considered an opportunity to promote and attract visitors from this potential market. 2024 is the third consecutive year that Danang has organized an international golf tournament. This shows that Danang has sufficient conditions in terms of facilities, human resources, linkage work... and other conditions according to the standards for organizing large-scale golf tournaments. Therefore, Danang has been and is a golf tourism destination chosen by international and domestic visitors.

Director of Omega Tours Nguyen Ngoc Anh said that the popular golf tour program that his company and other travel agencies are organizing often combines visiting some famous tourist destinations in Da Nang, Quang Nam and then playing golf or vice versa before leaving. Da Nang and the Central region have advantages because they have many beautiful golf courses as well as convenient flight routes to nearby markets such as Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia (Korea) for visitors of this market. In the future, to develop golf tourism, the tourism industry needs to strengthen strong communication both domestically and internationally, build a golf tourism ecosystem, create more options for visitors to experience through organizing more golf tournaments with coordination between golf courses in the Central region.
