STEAM Education – A Bridge Between Art and Science
If STEM focuses on science , technology, engineering and mathematics, STEAM adds the element of "Art". Thanks to that, learning activities are not only logical but also stimulate imagination, expression and aesthetics.
In elementary art, STEAM helps students:
Know how to observe - ask questions - find solutions through creative practice.
Train dexterity, visual thinking, spatial thinking.
Develop skills in cooperation, presentation and product demonstration.
Thanks to this combination, each Art lesson is not just a regular drawing hour but becomes an inspirational learning journey.
Experiential activities during the training session
During the training session, teachers were not only introduced to theory but also directly participated in creating like real students. Each group of teachers received a set of primary school STEAM Fine Arts materials including:
Wooden sticks, various joints for model assembly.
Art tools – colors – craft paper, clay to decorate your creations.
Decorations – wire, wool, mica paper, mini led bulbs to create artistic accents.
The classroom atmosphere is lively, teachers are excited to turn wooden bars and joints into models of houses, bridges, animals or natural landscapes. Decorative details help the products to be full of personality, ensuring both technical and aesthetic qualities.
The special feature of the training session is the harmonious combination of theory and practice, helping teachers easily apply it to actual teaching.
The value of experience for teachers
Practice like students: Teachers better understand how to organize lessons, from the stages of posing problems - suggesting - guiding - evaluating products.
Improving organizational skills: Through experience, teachers learn how to encourage students to be creative without forcing them.
Spreading inspiration: Each finished product is not only a physical model but also a testament to the companionship between art - science - education.
From here, teachers have more tools to stimulate students' interest in learning, creating lively and engaging lessons.
