Sharing love, caring for community health.

Along with its emergency relief and humanitarian aid mission, the Son La Provincial Red Cross Society focuses on expanding and improving the effectiveness of community health care and protection activities. Through mobilizing the participation of organizations, units, and philanthropists inside and outside the province, many medical examination and health consultation programs have been implemented, contributing to bringing medical services closer to the people, especially in remote, disadvantaged areas.

In the final days of the year, we had the opportunity to collaborate with the Provincial Red Cross Society to carry out a program of free medical examinations, consultations, and medication distribution for the people of Muoi Noi commune. During the program, a large number of people, including the elderly and children, received free examinations, consultations, and medication. In addition, the Society also donated nearly 1,000 warm jackets to students, with a total value of 120 million VND.

Besides medical examinations and treatment, doctors and medical staff also advise people on how to prevent and control some common seasonal diseases, on proper nutrition and lifestyle, and how to monitor their health at home. The program has practically supported primary healthcare for people in disadvantaged areas, demonstrating a spirit of humanity and sharing.

In collaboration with the Son La Provincial Red Cross Society, the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society has implemented many practical humanitarian activities aimed at disadvantaged areas. From 2023 to the present, the Society has participated in organizing programs for medical examinations, health consultations, and free distribution of medicine to people in difficult circumstances; at the same time, it has donated over 3,500 warm jackets and over 125 gift packages to students in mountainous communes; and provided nutritional support for poor children and children with disabilities in the province.

Mr. Bui Manh Phuc, Chairman of the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society, shared: "We always consider coordinating and supporting disadvantaged localities like Son La as a responsibility and also as an expression of shared compassion among all levels of the Red Cross Society. Through programs such as medical examinations, dispensing medicine, and donating warm clothes to students, we hope to contribute to the Son La Provincial Red Cross Society's efforts to better care for the health and lives of the people and children."

In addition to the charitable program in Muoi Noi commune, since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Red Cross Society has coordinated and organized free medical examinations, health consultations, and medication distribution in the communes of Chieng La, Sap Xa, Gia Phu, Muong Chanh, etc. They have provided free examinations and medication to 1,464 people, with a total value of over 678 million VND.

Ms. Lo Thi Minh, from La Lom village, Chieng La commune, happily said: "My family is in difficult circumstances, but thanks to the doctors and the Red Cross coming to the commune to examine and provide medicine, we received free medical check-ups and advice on how to maintain our health and prevent diseases. We are very grateful."

In addition, the Provincial Red Cross Society continues to effectively implement major programs such as "Tet of Compassion" and "Humanitarian Month," focusing on healthcare, livelihood support, and improving the lives of the people. In 2025, the "Tet of Compassion" program distributed over 46,300 gifts worth a total of 22.1 billion VND; within the framework of "Humanitarian Month," nearly 12,000 poor people received support, with a total mobilized resource of nearly 11 billion VND, providing practical assistance to families facing difficulties or natural disasters.

Ms. Cam Thi Chuyen, President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, stated: "Caring for and protecting community health is one of the key tasks of the Provincial Red Cross Society. In 2025, the Red Cross branches at all levels have strived to mobilize resources and closely coordinate with the health sector and organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to organize many practical activities to promptly support people, especially in remote areas."

With these achievements, the Son La Provincial Red Cross Society continues to affirm its role as a reliable support for the people, especially the vulnerable, contributing together with the local Party committee and government to effectively implement social welfare goals, for a healthy, compassionate and sustainable community.
