Supermarkets and shopping centers increase supply and offer deep discounts during the holidays

Supermarkets and shopping centers have proactively increased their stockpiles and extended the promotional period during the 5-day April 30 holiday.

According to traders, consumer purchasing power is expected to increase by 30-35% compared to normal days, and increase compared to the April 30 and May 1 holidays last year. Central Retail's supermarket system applies discounts of up to 50% on over 1,000 products from fresh food, processed food, beer, soft drinks..., especially local specialties across the country.

At the WinCommerce retail system, in addition to the WIN Membership program with a 20% savings on WinEco clean vegetables and MEATDeli clean meat, the WinMart system launched a discount program of up to 50%, buy 1 get 1 free, and gifts when purchasing essential products...

To welcome the big holiday, Co.op Mart supermarket also launched a discount program for dishes for home parties, through a rotating promotion program of 15 - 20% discount on foods for daily meals.

Similarly, a representative of the AEON Mall supermarket system said that they have prepared goods and increased human resources. On this occasion, AEON department stores and supermarkets nationwide have simultaneously increased their operating hours.

Many other supermarkets such as Lotte Mart, MM Mega Market... are also competing to implement discount programs with a common level of 10 - 50% applied to thousands of products, focusing on food, fresh products, soft drinks... In which MM applies a discount of up to 50% for more than 50 essential products; at the same time, coordinate to organize Lam Dong Avocado Promotion Week with a price reduction of up to 50%.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, commercial director of MM Mega Market Vietnam, said that compared to last year's holiday, the amount of goods prepared to serve this year's holiday increased by more than 20%, and the unit expects good sales growth.

"Because it is a long holiday, this year we are stepping up our promotional programs. It is expected that during these 15 days, revenue from the system's promotional programs alone will reach about 150 billion VND," Mr. Toan informed.

Food safety industry on duty during the holidays

According to Ms. Pham Khanh Phong Lan - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety, the unit has developed a comprehensive combat plan, established interdisciplinary inspection teams, and increased supervision at event locations, reception venues, and communal dining areas on the occasion of the April 30 holiday.

Meals served to international delegates, delegates from 62 provinces and cities, and military forces are strictly controlled from raw materials to processing, transportation, and preservation.

"We will mobilize maximum human resources, be ready to intervene and handle incidents and resolutely not let any risks occur, especially in the current hot weather conditions," Ms. Lan emphasized.
