Tue Anh is a third-year student majoring in Network Security Administration at a university in Hanoi . She chose this major with a simple thought: "The network security major is very "hot", easy to find a job after graduation, good salary". However, when she started studying the major, Tue Anh found it difficult to keep up with the curriculum.

The complicated programming and coding lessons made her frustrated and unable to keep up with the program. "I was really clueless with the command lines. When doing group exercises, I could only stand and watch my friends discuss, I didn't know what to say," Tue Anh confided.

Not only the pressure of studying but also the feeling of helplessness made Tue Anh doubt her initial choice many times.

"I once thought about dropping out of school, but thinking about my parents and the effort they put in to pay for my tuition, I tried to finish my university degree," Tue Anh shared. However, she soon determined that after graduating, she would not be able to pursue a career in Cyber Security Administration.

From her second year of school, Tue Anh began to look for a new direction for herself. She decided to learn Chinese, a requirement to become a tour guide in the future. "I know the tourism industry has many challenges, but the feeling of talking and interacting with foreigners makes me feel much happier," Tue Anh said.

Yen Linh, a second-year student majoring in Economics in Hanoi, was once the pride of her family because of her good results in her first year. But when she entered her second year, she began to feel less interested in studying.

"I don't understand why things have become so difficult. In my first year, I studied very hard and had a clear goal of graduating with honors, but now things are completely different," Yen Linh shared. A feeling of loneliness began to appear in Yen Linh.

"I often feel tired and no longer interested in studying like before. There are times when I sit at my desk but my mind is blank, not knowing what I am studying for," Yen Linh confided. She admitted that she gradually lost motivation and sometimes wondered whether she should continue her university studies.

Yen Linh knows that many of her friends are experiencing the same feeling, but few dare to admit it openly. "Some of my classmates said that they did not have a clear career plan. They chose their major based on the majority, and only realized they had chosen wrongly when they entered school," Yen Linh recounted.

The anxiety not only comes from the pressure of studying but also from the lack of clear future direction, causing Yen Linh many sleepless nights.

Feeling lost and disoriented is not an uncommon phenomenon in the university environment. Many students enter the lecture hall without a clear career orientation, easily swayed by the advice of others or social trends without understanding their own skills and interests.

The pressure of studying and taking exams creates a spiral of stress, causing many young people to want to drop out of school or have the mentality of studying just to get a degree.

Nowadays, many universities have career counseling centers and organize experiential activities. However, the initiative from students themselves in discovering their interests, abilities and future career orientation is still the key factor.

Only when you understand yourself clearly can young people turn their university journey into an exciting path of discovery, not a tiring race.
