Starting from August, the closer to the new school year, the more exciting the market for shopping for school supplies and school uniforms becomes.
Bookstores and stationery stores in Buon Ma Thuot City are always crowded with parents and students shopping, especially on weekends. This year, in the context of economic difficulties, people are also tightening their spending, most parents choose to buy Vietnamese branded products for their children because of their beautiful designs, quality and reasonable prices.
At Fahasa Buon Ma Thuot Bookstore, textbooks, reference books, notebooks and school supplies are fully displayed, with diverse designs, eye-catching styles and publicly listed prices. For the convenience of parents and students, books and school supplies for the new school year are arranged by grade level, subject and displayed separately in the "Back to school" area.

According to Ms. Tran Pham Nha Quynh, acting Store Manager of Fahasa Buon Ma Thuot Bookstore, since June, many parents have started to buy books and school supplies for their children, but it was not until early August that the shopping atmosphere really became lively. Therefore, the unit's sales have also increased by about 50% compared to normal days.
To meet customers' shopping needs, since the beginning of April, the bookstore has proactively sourced textbooks and stationery, with about 5,000 items, most of which are Vietnamese products. In addition, the bookstore has also increased its staff to promptly advise and serve customers' needs. This year, the prices of textbooks and school supplies have not fluctuated much compared to last year. Currently, a set of textbooks according to the new curriculum costs from 300,000 - 400,000 VND/set; the prices of notebooks from brands such as Campus, Hai Tien, Hong Ha... range from 8,000 - 12,000 VND/book; ballpoint pens and pencils from brands such as Thien Long, Binh Tay... range from 3,000 - 12,000 VND/piece.
Besides textbooks and school supplies, the school uniform market has also begun to bustle. Compared to last year, the price of this item has not increased and the quality of the products has improved. Research at some traditional markets and clothing stores in Buon Ma Thuot City shows that, depending on the size and fabric, the price of each set of school uniforms for all levels ranges from 170,000 - 295,000 VND/set; dresses for female students cost from 130,000 - 160,000 VND/dress; gym clothes cost from 120,000 - 170,000 VND/set; jackets cost from 110,000 - 120,000 VND/piece...
According to Ms. Pham Thi Luot, owner of a tailoring and school uniform shop on Le Duan Street (Ea Tam Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City), in recent years, parents have tended to buy ready-made uniforms more than ordering them, so she has also paid more attention to fabric quality and product design. This year, right from the beginning of summer, her shop has prepared a large amount of uniforms for students. Since August, customers have started to flock to the shop to buy things, so she has had to ask her family members to help her serve them. On average, she sells nearly 100 uniforms a day. "The closer the new school year starts, the more demand for shopping increases. Therefore, even though the shop has prepared in advance and has a continuous workforce, it is still not enough to meet the needs of customers," Ms. Luot shared.
