Son La finishes early in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses

NDO - On the afternoon of May 15, the Son La Provincial Party Committee held a conference to review the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Attending the conference were comrade Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, and leaders of the Dong Nai Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Pursuant to Decision No. 539/QD-TTg dated June 19, 2024 of the Prime Minister on promulgating the plan to implement the emulation movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025, Son La province has issued plans, projects, and programs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

Previously, through reviewing the need for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, Son La province had 3,058 houses, including 2,653 newly built houses and 405 repaired houses.

Of the 3,058 houses in need of support, 200 are for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives; 314 houses are part of the national target program; 2,544 houses are part of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Thuan Chau district, Son La province has completed the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses before April 30, 2025.

Up to now, Son La province has completed 3,058 houses, exceeding 221 houses compared to Plan No. 01-KH/BCĐ approved by the Steering Committee of Son La province.

The houses are supported to be built with guaranteed quality and 3-hard standards (hard frame, hard wall, hard roof), do not use temporary, easily damaged, flammable materials and ensure safety during construction and use.

According to the plan, the project was completed 4 days ahead of schedule on May 19, 2025 in Son La province; 169 days ahead of the Government's deadline of October 31, 2025.

During the process of building and repairing temporary and dilapidated houses, Son La province mobilized forces to help families of meritorious people to remove temporary houses.

The total funding requirement to support the construction and repair of 3,058 houses is 171 billion 330 million VND.

The budget from the poverty reduction target program is 5 billion 556 million VND; the budget using the Son La 8 provincial budget savings is 640 billion VND; the budget using the district budget savings is 10 billion 338 million VND; the funding from Dong Nai province is 111 billion VND.

The quality of houses supported for construction in Son La province all meet the 3 hard standards.

Along with the above funding sources, there is also a socialized funding source received at the district level of 13 billion 514.12 million VND; the funding source received by the Mobilization Committee of the Fund "For the Poor" of Son La province is 61 billion 569.729 million VND.

There is still an unreceived budget of VND8 billion 940 million to support 200 houses for households with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs. Son La province has also requested the Ministry of Finance to soon allocate funds to support the above content.

A poor household in Muong Cai commune, Song Ma border district, received support to remove temporary houses.

Along with that, Son La province launched the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in the area. In addition to financial contributions, volunteers, forces and people have contributed more than 62,000 working days to support households in building and repairing houses.

With the above efforts, up to now, Son La province has accelerated the progress of completing projects, saving costs to support people to soon complete the construction and repair of houses. At the same time, stabilizing people's lives, contributing to completing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Son La province to the finish line ahead of the Government's plan.
