On October 30, a representative of Viettel Telecom Corporation said that thanks to drastic response measures, Viettel's network signal is being maintained stably to serve the government's flood prevention and control work and the communication needs of people in Hue and Da Nang.

Amidst the severe floods that caused deep inundation and isolation in many areas, Viettel units in Da Nang and Hue cities demonstrated the spirit of "the network is the order", proactively deploying rescue operations, ensuring uninterrupted telecommunications networks. In addition to the on-site technical staff on duty 24/7, Viettel Telecom also mobilized personnel from neighboring provinces to support Hue and Da Nang in transporting fuel, equipment, and batteries to "save the waves".
“Currently, Viettel's signal is still stable in 40 communes and wards across Hue City. All Viettel BTS stations are operating stably, with technical staff on duty 24/7 and fuel reserves to ensure infrastructure operations during the time the flood has not receded,” said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Quang, Director of Viettel Hue City.

On the morning of October 29, after listening to the report on ensuring technical infrastructure for communications in Hue city, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue city acknowledged and highly appreciated Viettel's communication assurance work and requested to continue to maintain the telecommunications network well during and after the flood to serve rescue work and communication for the people.

Directly present in the deeply flooded and isolated areas to direct the information rescue work at the scene. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Vu Tra My, Director of Viettel Da Nang, said that he had closely coordinated with the City Military Command, borrowed boats to transport gasoline, generators and technical personnel to isolated base transceiver stations (BTS). Many technical staff crossed the strong currents, directly fixed the problem, maintained the base, and ensured communication for isolated areas. Thanks to that, the Viettel network in Da Nang was still maintained in the fierce flood.
In addition, to support people in staying connected during natural disasters, Viettel transaction stores, post offices and supermarkets in Hue and Da Nang cities are open to provide free battery/phone charging points for people.
"Viettel's waves here also open roaming so that customers of other networks can use it to communicate when necessary," said a Viettel Telecom representative.
