Inspecting the damage caused by floods in Hue Imperial City, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh highly appreciated the proactive and urgent spirit of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in implementing the motto "where the water recedes, the environment is cleaned up", quickly cleaning up mud and garbage, quickly restoring a clean and beautiful appearance, helping to minimize damage to the Hue Monuments Complex. This spirit not only demonstrates awareness and responsibility in heritage conservation but also contributes to ensuring safe conditions to welcome people and tourists to visit after floods.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Complex of Hue Monuments is a world heritage site. Therefore, protecting royal architectural works in extreme weather conditions must be given top priority, especially drainage systems, waterproofing, foundation reinforcement and preservation of artifacts.
The city government and the Hue Monuments Conservation Center need to quickly review vulnerable items due to floods and develop long-term response plans in the direction of adapting to climate change. Units continue to quickly overcome the consequences, clean up and drain water, ensuring early reopening to serve visitors in the spirit of clearing as soon as the water recedes; at the same time, pay attention to ensuring absolute safety for the task force and people in the complicated weather conditions.
From October 25-30, due to the influence of the cold air combined with the disturbance of the East wind in the high altitude, Hue city had very heavy rain, causing two major floods. Many relics belonging to the Complex of Hue Monuments were deeply flooded: Hue Imperial City was flooded about 0.3m; Minh Mang Tomb was flooded about 1.4m in the court yard; Gia Long Tomb was flooded along the lakeside path and Thieu Tri Tomb was flooded about 1.5m in the court yard; Tu Duc and Dong Khanh Tombs were flooded about 1m; An Dinh Palace was flooded 2m in the court yard, the interior of Khai Tuong Lau was flooded 10cm. In addition, other relic sites were flooded locally.

Thanks to proactive prevention and control plans, at relic sites, there has not been any major damage, but some items have been affected, such as: Landslide of about 10m of lake embankment at Tu Duc tomb, wooden column system of Truong Lang Dai Cung Mon is submerged in water, risking reducing the life of the project.
