Collapse of Hoa Binh Bridge approach road (Tay Ninh): Suspected to be caused by local mud bag sliding

The Department of Construction of Tay Ninh province has just released a preliminary assessment of the collapse and subsidence of the Hoa Binh Bridge approach road in Hoa Hoi commune (Chau Thanh district).

Accordingly, the incident may have been caused by a local mud bag located under the bridgehead road slipping, causing subsidence of the roadbed and surface, and up to now, the project has not been accepted, handed over, and put into use. The Department of Construction is still coordinating with the Chau Thanh District People's Committee and related units to determine the cause and promptly propose a solution. Immediately after the incident, the Chau Thanh District People's Committee promptly organized a visit to the victims of the traffic accident.

Chau Thanh District Party Secretary Truong Van Hoan visited and presented gifts to traffic accident victims affected by construction subsidence.

Regarding the incident, the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district is directing the functional forces to organize traffic flow for this route. From May 11, when the incident is resolved, vehicles will travel from Hoa Hoi commune to Hoa Thanh commune and vice versa, moving along provincial roads, district roads, and border patrol roads in the area.

As reported by SGGP Newspaper, at around 4:00 a.m. on May 11, the road leading to Hoa Binh Bridge (Hoa Hoi Commune) collapsed and sank with a length of about 35 meters and a depth of about 3 meters, 1 car, 2 motorbikes were damaged and 6 people were injured and had to be taken to Tay Ninh Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment.
