According to the locals who are knowledgeable about the weather and scenery of the route, to fully explore and conquer the Ta Xua peak, we should join the 2-day, 1-night journey. After preparing all the necessary equipment for the trip to "heaven on earth", at 6:00 a.m., our group was taken by car to the foot of Ta Xua mountain in Sang Nhu cluster, Ta Xua village, Ban Cong commune, from here we had to walk over a 12 km long road to reach the Ta Xua peak. Before us was a road that challenged the spirit, will, courage and passion of the participants.

Mr. Mua A Sang - a local who went with the group introduced and reassured everyone: "This slope runs across the top of the turtle's head, about 4km long. This is also the steepest and longest slope on the entire journey to the top of Ta Xua...".

The chirping of cicadas chased away the morning mist, revealing a peaceful picture in the middle of the forest, making each of us feel like the road had become shorter and less steep. After nearly two hours of struggling in the early morning sun, the group overcame the first challenging slope and set foot on the turtle head. This is a towering rock in the middle of the mountain ridge, with a high beak, stretching far into the vast space, resembling a turtle's head and is a great check-in spot loved by many tourists.

Passing the turtle head, we arrived at a vast grassland like a steppe, this is the place that takes up the most time for female tourists to check in, take Tiktok... because of the majestic, poetic, peaceful scenery and space in the middle of the vast sky. To serve tourists to immerse themselves in nature, some local women also come here to sell drinks and rent ethnic and ancient costumes.

Local people sell water and rent traditional costumes to serve tourists who want to dress up when conquering Ta Xua.

Ms. Ly Thi Sua shared: "The best time to conquer Ta Xua peak is usually from the 10th lunar month to the 3rd lunar month of the following year. Because this time has little rain, it is convenient for tourists to travel and safe when tourists sleep at the huts in the forest. This is also the time when we have finished our farming work to go to work, helping tourists to save many beautiful memories when coming to Ta Xua peak and have more income for the family."

Before we could fully enjoy the wonderful scenery of the grassland, we entered the steep path through the rocky crevices and winding cliffs, likened to a dinosaur's spine with a length of more than 2km, bringing both attractive and thrilling experiences. There were sections of vertical cliffs, requiring support from cable railings to step over.

There are sections with deep abysses on both sides, walking on a fragile spine as if you could fall out of space in a split second. Although this section is considered the most dangerous in the Ta Xua peak experience route, it is also the section that gives the strongest feeling to adventurous tourists and is an ideal check-in point, capturing images as if you are "riding clouds" in paradise.

Not yet finished with the exciting, thrilling feeling of "riding on the back of a dinosaur", we continued to get lost in the old forest with the characteristic of short trees, feeling like an adult just needs to stand up straight to reach the treetops. Continuing on the trail, we went to the bamboo forest with dense bamboo bushes, intertwined on both sides of the road, creating unique masterpieces of nature. Every time a gentle wind blew, the bamboo trees intertwined, rubbing their trunks against each other with the rustling sound of leaves hitting each other, creating a unique forest music.

The forest music reminded me of the Cúc Kè flute (nose flute) by artist Đặng Thị Thanh (from Xa Phó, Châu Quế Thượng commune, Văn Yên district), which was originally inspired by the sound of bamboo trees rubbing against each other when the wind blew through the forest. While everyone was still enraptured by the "forest music", they entered a magical, mossy forest like in a fairy tale.

At an altitude of 2,500m above sea level, the forest here is both low and covered with moss with strange shapes. When the afternoon sunlight shines in and the clouds drift by, the moss forest becomes hazy, green, purple, mysterious, feeling like being lost in the aquarium in the movie Journey to the West. With a length of more than 2km, the mossy forest road has many shapes, interesting scenery for visitors to freely create to save memorable photos on the top of Ta Xua.

Passing through the magical mossy forest, we finally reached the Ta Xua peak milestone after nearly a day of conquest. Standing on the top of Ta Xua, looking out in all four directions is a sea of pure white clouds, in the distance, the peaks of Ta Chi Nhu and Ta Y Cho rise up like beautiful small islands in the sea of clouds, creating a majestic, beautiful scene for artists to freely create their own works of art. The clock struck 5 p.m., which was also the time to prepare to close a day of enjoying the majestic, unique natural scenery of Ta Xua mountains and forests - a place likened to "paradise on earth".

"Thousand star" hotel where "money is like nothing"

In the middle of the vast mountains and forests, the overnight shelter for tourists, nearly 1km from the top of Ta Xua, located in the middle of the mossy forest, is likened to a "thousand-star" hotel because within a radius of dozens of kilometers, this is the only place that serves the needs of human life. On the top of the high mountain, the sunset falls very quickly. When the last ray of sunlight disappears behind the distant mountain, the night falls, we hurried back to the communal shelter with a capacity of more than 150 beds of Mr. Giang A Lau. This place brings tourists a "one-of-a-kind" experience at night on the top of Ta Xua.

In addition to the culinary exchange with traditional dishes, in the middle of the green forest, the flute and panpipe sounds of the boys and girls in the campfire flickering in the wind make tourists even more fascinated by the natural scenery, by the pure and enthusiastic feelings of the local people serving here.

The owner of Giang A Lau community rest house shared: "Because the rest house is far from the center, food, drinks, and necessities for tourists here must be transported by human power from the district center, so they will not be as complete as the rest house in the district center. Every day, we only bring enough essential items according to the number of guests booked in advance. We hope everyone will share and help us overcome this problem, and have fun is the main thing. Here, even the rich cannot have a better regime...".

Despite the difficulties, the love and responsibility for the homeland and tourists, the food and accommodation services are also very gentle and reasonable so that all tourists feel comfortable when coming to experience and ensure freshness and safety for health. The later the night, the colder it gets to the skin, the campfire gradually goes out, tourists gradually fall asleep in the middle of the forest to regain strength to wake up the next morning to welcome the sunrise, hunt for clouds and continue the journey down the mountain...

Potential for tourism development

It is undeniable that the beauty that nature has bestowed on Ta Xua, bringing interesting experiences to visitors when conquering the road to the top of Ta Xua. That beauty has created an important highlight to attract tourists for the locality to develop tourism. Typically, Tram Tau has built and put into operation a tour from Van Chan, through the Shan Phinh Ho tea area, watching Hang De Cho waterfall, Lang Nhi commune, to Ban Cong commune to conquer Ta Xua peak and then through Tram Tau town to bathe in hot springs, enjoy traditional dishes of the Thai and Mong people and then conquer Ta Chi Nhu peak along with many other tourism products and services, contributing significantly to promoting the increasingly strong development of the district's "smokeless industry".

Thanks to effectively exploiting the potential and strengths of the majestic natural landscape bestowed by nature to develop eco-tourism, adventure tourism, especially mountain climbing experiences, conquering the peaks of Ta Xua and Ta Chi Nhu, Tram Tau district has created many jobs for local workers such as: motorbike taxi services, developing food and beverage services, accommodation, buying, selling, exchanging local agricultural products... helping to increase income and improve people's lives.
