This is part of a series of communication activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental protection and natural heritage preservation among employees of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences , contributing to affirming the role and responsibility of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in environmental protection towards concretizing the country's Sustainable Development Goals.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Song Tung, Director of the Institute of Human Geography, stated that the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is one of 39 mixed heritage sites in the world, and the first mixed heritage site in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. It comprehensively fulfills the core contents of a millennium heritage ecosystem, possessing sufficient foundation and scientific value to further develop the Trang An millennium heritage ecosystem within urban organization and contemporary life. The Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex has truly played a pivotal role, acting as a driving force for tourism development throughout the province, affirming Ninh Binh's position in the domestic and international tourism markets. However, along with the development of tourism in particular, and the socio -economic development of the province in general, and the participation of tourists, the landscape environment of the area has suffered some negative impacts. Therefore, raising awareness about environmental protection in the Trang An scenic landscape complex is necessary and has practical significance, contributing to the effective implementation of regulations on environmental protection in general, and the protection of natural heritage in particular.
