Previously, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee received an official dispatch from Sun Airport Joint Stock Company, proposing to invest in the Phan Thiet Airport project (Phan Thiet airport), civil aviation category.
The Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has given his opinion, assigning the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the province's specialized agencies to study, review and organize the appraisal of the investor's report. Advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve the proposals of Sun Airport Joint Stock Company in accordance with the provisions of law.
According to the proposal of Sun Airport Joint Stock Company (a member company of Sun Group), this company would like to invest in the civil part of Phan Thiet airport project in the form of business investment, according to the Investment Law, not applying the BOT investment form as before for this project.
The Sun Airport Joint Stock Company sent a document to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee proposing that, if approved, the civil construction project of Phan Thiet airport will begin on August 19.
Previously, on July 26-27, during a working trip to survey projects facing difficulties and problems in the coastal area of Lam Dong (formerly Binh Thuan province), a representative of Sun Airport Joint Stock Company explained a number of issues related to Phan Thiet airport and a number of other projects that the company proposed to invest in.
Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi basically agreed with the proposals, assigned the Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies to study, review and advise the Provincial People's Committee to decide, in the spirit of "decisiveness, having specific products, saying is doing, in accordance with legal regulations".
The Phan Thiet airport project is in the process of re-evaluating the pre-feasibility report and proposing to share public investment items, implemented by the Ministry of National Defense, such as runways and flight guidance stations.
However, civil projects approved for BOT investment (stations, airport access roads, etc.) have been adjusted and have not yet had a replacement investor after the termination with the previous investor.
The Phan Thiet Airport BOT civil project is a key project of the old Binh Thuan province and has been slow in investment progress for many years for various reasons.
