Traffic accidents reduced in the first quarter of 2025

Reporting at the conference on the first quarter work and the implementation of key tasks for the second quarter of 2025 of the Ministry of Construction this afternoon (April 9), Mr. Nguyen Tri Duc, Chief of Office of the Ministry, said that in the first 3 months of the year, transportation activities recorded impressive growth.

Specifically, freight transport is estimated to reach nearly 716 million tons, up more than 15%. Notably, according to the Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction, transport recorded an improvement, but in the first months of the year, traffic safety work was well implemented.

Statistics in the first quarter of 2025 show that there were more than 4,700 traffic accidents nationwide, killing nearly 2,600 people and injuring 3,198 people. Compared to the first 3 months of 2024, there were more than 1,800 fewer traffic accidents (down nearly 28%), 226 fewer deaths (down 8%), and nearly 2,000 fewer injuries (down more than 38%).
