The names ta gold and western gold come from long-standing habits, these two names also show the difference in quality.
In the current gold market, the two most common terms that consumers often hear are pure gold and western gold. Although both types of gold have high economic value, they have different characteristics and applications.
24K gold (also known as 24K gold) is the purest form of gold. It contains 99.99% pure gold and almost no impurities. 24K gold has a bright yellow color, is soft and malleable, and is often used to make high-end jewelry and for investment due to its high economic value and durability over time.
The name "ta gold" originates from ancient times, when gold was mined and used mainly in Vietnam and other East Asian countries. "Ta" in Vietnamese means "ours," implying that this type of gold is a typical Vietnamese product.
In contrast, yellow gold is a type of gold with a lower purity than pure gold, usually containing from 41.7% to 75% gold (equivalent to 10K to 18K gold). The rest is other metals such as silver, copper, or zinc. Yellow gold has a lighter or darker yellow color depending on the mixing ratio of the metals.
The name “Western gold” originates from the colonial period, when gold blends of European styles and standards were introduced to Vietnam. “Western” in Vietnamese refers to Western countries, implying that this type of gold has European origins or influence.
The difference between pure gold and western gold is not only in purity but also in color, hardness and economic value. Pure gold has a bright and uniform yellow color, is soft and easy to bend, suitable for making detailed jewelry. Western gold has a more diverse color, from light yellow to dark yellow, is harder due to the mixture of other metals, is more durable and less deformed. Pure gold has a higher economic value, is often purchased for investment and storage, while western gold is more suitable for diverse and modern jewelry products.
Pure gold also has the disadvantage of being soft, easily deformed during daily use and is more expensive. Western gold has the advantage of being harder, more durable during daily use, diverse in color and design, more reasonable in price, and accessible to many consumers. However, it also has the disadvantage of being less pure, not as economically valuable as pure gold, and its color is not uniform, and can fade over time if not properly preserved.
