Pig farming model of Ms. Vi Thi Truong's family. |
In 2005, Ms. Truong's family was among the poor households in the locality. At that time, the couple had just gotten married, were young, and had no experience, so they were struggling to find a way out of poverty. Life became even more difficult after the birth of their two children, and at times it seemed like a dead end. However, in that difficult situation, the couple did not accept their fate, but nurtured the will to rise up, determined to find a way out of poverty.
Mr. Tham, Ms. Truong’s husband, does not hesitate to do any job, from driving an excavator to construction… but the economy is still not very good. The couple discussed and agreed to switch to investing in a commercial pig farming model.
The big turning point came in 2011, when the family escaped poverty. Realizing the potential for long-term development, in 2021, the family decided to sign a partnership contract with a company with a professional livestock and product consumption system.
Lacking capital, they sought preferential loans from banks to invest in barns; at the same time, they actively participated in training courses on livestock farming techniques to grasp knowledge of disease prevention, barn hygiene, and nutritional rations for each stage of pig development.
The form of livestock farming with "someone to buy output products and provide technical support for input" helps farmers feel secure in production and minimizes market risks - something that small-scale farmers often worry about.
In addition, the company also supports consulting on designing closed, bio-safe barns, helping to increase productivity, limit disease and not pollute the environment.
Thanks to effective pig farming, Ms. Vi Thi Truong's family has escaped poverty and become rich. |
The pigs are raised according to the correct technical process: from breeding, care, disease prevention to sale. Each sale brings in clear profits, creating a solid financial source for the family to continue expanding the scale.
From a few dozen pigs at first, now Mr. and Mrs. Truong Tham are stably raising more than 500 pigs/batch (can raise 2-3 batches a year), with revenue reaching more than 1 billion VND/year, becoming one of the typical economic models of Phuc Luong commune.
This success does not come from luck, but is the result of a process of hard work, constant learning and daring to think and act. From a place of hunger, Ms. Truong's family now not only has a stable life, but also owns an agricultural enterprise with clear connections and long-term development orientation. Not only does it enrich itself, her family also creates jobs for 2 local workers with a stable income of 7 million VND/person/month and has many positive contributions to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Overcoming poverty, Ms. Truong’s family always has deep sympathy for those who are less fortunate. With the thought of “having little, contribute little, having much, contribute much”, each year, they spend about 50 million VND to support charitable activities, such as: supporting the Education Promotion Fund, the Fund for the Poor, giving gifts to policy families, the elderly, etc. in the locality.
Mr. Vu Thanh Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Luong Commune, said: Ms. Truong's family is not only good at doing business, but also lives in harmony and is full of compassion. They have been inspiring many households in the commune to boldly invest in economic development.
The story of Ms. Truong and her husband is not only a vivid proof of the efforts and determination to escape poverty sustainably, but also a shining example of the spirit of mutual love and support, a precious thing that needs to be spread more in today's life.
