Screening and early detection help improve the effectiveness and reduce the cost of breast cancer treatment.

Responding to Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025, a series of activities were deployed to create a widespread impact, contributing to providing opportunities to proactively and sustainably care for and protect the health of Vietnamese women.

Many delegates attended the Breast Cancer Patient Forum with the theme "Modern beauties, not afraid of difficulties".

On the afternoon of November 4, in Hanoi, the Cancer Patient Support Fund - Bright Tomorrow ( Ministry of Health ) coordinated with Roche Pharma Vietnam, AstraZeneca Vietnam and partners to organize a Breast Cancer Patient Forum with the theme "Modern beautiful women, not afraid of difficulties".

This is a meaningful event within the framework of the campaign "Join hands for the woman I love" in 2025, along with programs such as free breast cancer screening, "Pink train" Cat Linh - Ha Dong, or "Light up the pink building" in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City...

The forum is an opportunity for "pink warriors" to meet and listen to in-depth sharing from leading experts on breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, and to have their questions answered during and after treatment. This is also a space for patients and medical staff to share experiences, spread strength and optimism.

With the message "Modern beauty, not afraid of difficulties", the program honors the image of modern Vietnamese women, who always love themselves, proactively take care of their health and resiliently face all challenges. They are not only the main characters in their own stories but also a source of inspiration for the whole community.

At the forum, Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Pham Cam Phuong, Director of the Center for Nuclear Medicine and Oncology, Bach Mai Hospital shared about how to deal with crises in breast cancer treatment. Notably, doctors play an important role in recognizing and promptly handling difficult situations, helping patients overcome challenging stages in the treatment journey.

Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Pham Cam Phuong believes that there is nothing to fear when breast cancer is completely curable. Patients need to comply with the treatment process, most importantly, be proactive, calm, cooperative, and cheerfully overcome all treatment processes. "Cancer can take away your hair, take away a part of your body, take away your health, but it cannot take away your willpower and faith" - Associate Professor, Doctor Pham Cam Phuong affirmed.

Dr. Le Thi Yen, Head of the Internal Medicine Department of Quan Su Hospital, K Hospital, said that there have been many advances in breast cancer treatment, from targeted therapies to modern immunotherapy, bringing hope and opportunities for more effective treatment for patients.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Hung, Board of Management of the Cancer Patient Support Fund - Bright Tomorrow shared: Breast cancer is a disease that can be completely cured if detected early, breast cancer patients are currently being approached and treated with scientifically standard regimens, suitable for each individual's physical condition and condition. However, the prerequisite is still early detection of the disease, so understanding and the habit of going for screening to detect cancer early, especially breast cancer when women enter the risk age is extremely important.

Within the framework of this year's program activities, the Fund will implement a series of activities dedicated to breast cancer patients. The series of programs "Breast Cancer Patient Forum" is held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to help patients update and understand correctly about treatment methods, and is also an opportunity for medical staff and patients to meet, share experiences and encourage patients, helping patients recover during or after the treatment process.

The Fund also launched the “Free Breast Cancer Screening” activity for nearly 5,000 women aged 40 and over in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hue City. The highlight of this year will be the Pink Trains moving through the main stations of Hanoi Capital to raise public awareness of breast cancer as well as calling on women to screen for breast cancer and have regular check-ups every year.

According to statistics, breast cancer is the most common disease in Vietnamese women. Currently, every year our country records more than 24 thousand new cases of breast cancer, accounting for 28.9% of the total number of cancer cases in women. However, this is a disease that can be completely cured if detected early and treated properly. Screening and early detection of breast cancer in women aged 40 and over plays an extremely important role in improving treatment effectiveness and reducing costs.
