Strengthening propaganda of electrical safety among people

Tuyen Quang Electricity Company is currently managing and operating 290.39 km of 110kV power lines supplying power to 7 substations/13 110kV transformers with a total installed capacity of 476 MVA. Of which, there are 1,607 substations/1,612 distribution transformers with an installed capacity of 314,901 kVA, ensuring power supply to over 280,000 customers.

Identifying that the propaganda of electrical safety among the people is always the top priority task, the Company has always focused on this work, helping to prevent power grid incidents, minimize electrical accidents among the people, as well as helping people implement ways to prevent electrical accidents that may occur in daily life.

For a long time, people's habits and carelessness such as: Arbitrarily climbing electric poles and transformer stations; flying kites that get caught in power lines; hanging signs and advertisements that violate safety distances; constructing houses that violate power grid corridors; planting trees under power grid safety corridors... have been among the causes of electrical insecurity.

Faced with this situation, Tuyen Quang Power Company has focused on directing its affiliated Power Companies, coordinating well with local authorities to organize propaganda on electricity laws in villages, communes, wards and towns for a large number of officials and people to know. The propaganda content focuses mainly on guiding people on measures to prevent electrical accidents; how to use electricity safely, economically and effectively; protect the safety of the power grid...

Mr. Do Van Hieu, Phu Thinh residential group, Yen Son town (Yen Son) said, my family has a hill planted with acacia, located under the safety corridor of the 110kV power grid. After being informed by Yen Son Power Company staff and local authorities, my family has proactively not planted trees in the designated areas. At the same time, for trees with branches and tops reaching high, my family has trimmed them to avoid accidents caused by electric discharge.

Not only propagating through village, hamlet and residential area meetings, to widely disseminate propaganda contents on electrical safety, the power units in charge of districts and cities regularly organize mobile propaganda campaigns, propaganda on loudspeakers of residential areas about safe electricity use; distribute leaflets, place banners, billboards, posters with slogans encouraging people to use electricity economically and effectively in crowded places such as: schools, markets, hospitals, entertainment areas.

On the other hand, to make propaganda work more effective, the company has regularly announced and advised people on measures to ensure electrical safety through social networks such as Zalo, Facebook... to help people easily access information.

Mr. Hoang Thanh Trung, Head of Safety Department of Tuyen Quang Electricity Company said that currently, the rate of electricity usage of people in the province is 99.94%. On the electricity management side, we are also very interested in how to propagate and raise people's awareness, so that everyone can use electricity safely and economically.

In addition, the electricity sector also disseminated and distributed more than 31,000 documents, leaflets, billboards, posters, etc. on safe and economical use of electricity and protection of high-voltage power grid safety corridors to the People's Committees of communes, wards, districts, cities and electricity users for information and prevention. Thanks to the focus on promoting measures in propaganda work, since the beginning of the year, the electricity sector has not had any incidents related to violations of power grid safety corridors.

In addition to propaganda work, the electricity sector also recommends that people turn off electrical equipment when not in use; limit the use of many devices at the same time to avoid overload; raise people's awareness and responsibility in protecting the power grid, ensuring the safety of life and property of individuals and organizations living and working near the power grid corridor.
