Strengthening safety culture at BSR: Committing to compliance with procedures and enforcing discipline from the beginning

The talk was attended by leaders of the Safety and Quality Department, representatives of the leaders of the specialized departments and more than 200 employees working at Dung Quat Oil Refinery. This is a regular activity within the program to raise awareness and compliance with safety of all employees. Currently, BSR has achieved more than 54 million safe working hours, which is a testament to the solidarity of employees, as well as the coordination of contractors, the high sense of responsibility of the whole system...

*Overview of the December 2025 talk: “Comply with business processes, enforce discipline and do it right the first time”*

At the talk, the representative of the Safety and Health Department emphasized the importance of building and maintaining a Safety Culture, in which strict compliance with business processes, enforcement of labor discipline and doing it right the first time are considered core elements. Safety culture is not only the responsibility of each individual, but also the commitment of the whole team to protect themselves, colleagues and the Company's assets.

Through practical examples, analyzing the causes of some unsafe behaviors/conditions and typical incidents, the Safety and Quality Committee helped workers gain a deeper understanding of the consequences of violating procedures, working subjectively or not complying with safety regulations. Through the safety talk, workers at the Factory clearly understood the importance of using the correct/sufficient personal protective equipment, complying with procedures/instructions when working at heights, in confined spaces, ensuring industrial hygiene, etc.

From there, each individual has a greater sense of responsibility in every small action, from complying with regulations on work permits (PTW), change management, procedures/instructions... to recording potential hazards and proposing risk prevention measures.

In addition to sharing and disseminating safety knowledge and skills, the talk on safety culture is also an opportunity for individuals to share practical experiences and valuable lessons learned while working at Dung Quat Refinery.
