That was the affirmation of Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province at the meeting with businesses to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2024), on the evening of October 12.

The meeting program for businesses on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13, 2004 - October 13, 2024) aims to recognize, honor the contributions and encourage the business community, entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and business households in Quang Ninh province to make many efforts, strive, overcome difficulties and challenges, and make important contributions to the results of implementing the local socio -economic development tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged and commended the great contributions of the business community and entrepreneurs to the development of Quang Ninh province in recent years.

Enterprises and businessmen have been present in most industries and fields of production and business, operating not only in the Province but many enterprises and businessmen have built and affirmed their brand value in the domestic and foreign markets, gradually improving the competitiveness of their products and businesses.

“Entrepreneurs have demonstrated their talent, enthusiasm, responsibility and pioneering role in managing and organizing production resources, creating quality products and services for society, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Quang Ninh province, maintaining an average double-digit economic growth rate for 9 consecutive years (2015 - 2023)”, Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thanh emphasized.

According to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ninh, in the first 9 months of 2024, Quang Ninh has achieved positive and remarkable results in economic management. GRDP growth reached 8.02%, total state budget revenue reached 40,479 billion VND, equal to 73% of the estimate. Processing and manufacturing industry continues to be the main growth driver, increasing by 20.45%, higher than the same period. Total tourists to Quang Ninh reached over 15.6 million, up 20% over the same period, of which international visitors are estimated at 2.59 million; total tourism revenue increased by 39% over the same period. Export turnover of enterprises in the province increased by 13.8% over the same period.

Regarding the development of enterprises, cooperatives and business households in Quang Ninh province, Mr. Pham Hong Bien, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ninh province, said that the whole province of Quang Ninh currently has 11,669 operating enterprises, including 681 cooperatives. In the first 9 months of the year, 1,342 newly established enterprises, an increase of 7.6% over the same period, 581 enterprises registered to resume operations. Many enterprises and entrepreneurs in the province have made breakthroughs in corporate governance, production, business, and successfully started many new and effective business models. Enterprises have also proactively invested, improved the efficiency of applying modern science and technology, increased revenue and profit; created jobs and income for workers, contributed to ensuring social security and contributed to the state budget.

In the recent storm No. 3, Quang Ninh estimated the damage to be about 28,000 billion VND. Many businesses suffered heavy damage, including businesses that suffered up to 100 billion VND.

At the meeting, Mr. Pham Van The, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Business Association, representing businessmen and enterprises in the area, thanked the leaders of Quang Ninh province and the departments and branches of the province for having had many timely policies to remove difficulties for businesses in the past time.

According to Mr. Pham Van The, the recent storm No. 3 has caused heavy damage to many businesses in the area. Some businesses have been supported to reduce and extend bank debt, but for a short time, only until December 31, 2024. The time from now until then is too short to have a major impact on the recovery of businesses.

The Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Business Association proposed that the Province recommend to the Government and central ministries and branches to adjust and expand the support objects for enterprises affected by natural disasters and floods in some policies that have been issued. In addition, Quang Ninh province needs to reduce administrative procedures; local departments and branches actively and quickly resolve procedures, creating more favorable conditions for enterprises. Along with that, it is necessary to restructure the industry and adjust the planning to be more suitable, because after storm No. 3, some industries and branches are no longer suitable for the previous planning.

After listening to the speech from the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Business Association, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee assigned relevant agencies to synthesize and advise on solutions to resolve the businesses' recommendations.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province requested that local departments, branches and sectors focus on supporting the recovery of the consequences of storm No. 3. Deploy the development of the Economic Recovery and Reconstruction Project to serve as a basis for direction and management, ensuring the completion of goals. Innovate thinking, working methods and take drastic actions to create a strong change in direction and management to best serve people and businesses. Continue to assess the current situation and promptly respond to arising situations. Effectively and synchronously deploy policies to support the recovery and development of the socio-economy in the province.

“First of all, we must approach the difficulties of businesses. For the problems that have been pointed out, we need to have timely solutions to limit waste and losses for businesses,” Mr. Cao Tuong Huy emphasized.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, the relevant departments and agencies need to consider minimizing inspections and checks in areas that need to be rebuilt. Accompany the business community, listen to their concerns and share to promptly resolve them.

On the side of the business community, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province hopes that entrepreneurs will continue to build long-term and sustainable business strategies. Proactively innovate production and business models, restructure enterprises to bring high added value. Enterprises in the area will be an image, attracting other investors to Quang Ninh.

"Quang Ninh will create all favorable conditions for businesses. This is not only a task but also a responsibility," affirmed Mr. Cao Tuong Huy.
