According to the latest update, tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh has risen to 20th place in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, which is also the highest position she has achieved in her career.
Nguyen Thuy Linh entered the world's Top 20 for the first time.
According to this ranking, the Vietnamese female tennis player has a total of 45,550 points, up 4 places compared to the previous update.
In October, Thuy Linh was awarded 9,360 points on the BWF rankings thanks to her achievements in the quarterfinals of the Finland Open and the round of 16 of the Denmark Open.
If counting in 2023 alone, she has increased 31 places, from 51st to 20th in the world.
With this achievement, Thuy Linh also became the highest ranked Vietnamese female tennis player in history on the BWF rankings.
Previously, Vu Thi Thuy Trang had the best result, ranking 34th in the world.
On the Paris 2024 Olympic rankings, the 1997-born tennis player also rose to 15th place in the women's singles category and is in the group of tennis players qualified for the Olympics.
But the Organizing Committee will not officially finalize this list until April 2024, so Thuy Linh will have to continue to make efforts to maintain her position and win a ticket to the Olympics.
On October 25, the tennis player from Phu Tho will compete in the round of 16 of the French Open against Chinese tennis player currently ranked third in the world, Chen Yu Fei.
