On the morning of March 5, Thai Binh held a conference to announce the Thai Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and promote investment.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province, said that the approved planning opens a new development phase for the province. The planning has a strategic vision, concretizing the development aspiration; promoting all potentials, advantages, resources and human factors to develop Thai Binh province quickly, comprehensively and sustainably, with the goal of becoming a fairly developed locality by 2030. By 2050, Thai Binh province will be one of the industrial development centers of the Red River Delta.

The plan identifies major directions to create development breakthroughs with 3 development breakthroughs, 6 key tasks and 4 pillars of economic growth. This plan opens up development space following the trend of reclaiming land to create breakthroughs in the fields of seaports, energy, entertainment services, resorts and ecology.

In addition, expanding the sea encroachment space creates land for functional activities, forming a synchronous industrial-urban-service space and coastal ecological landscape.

In the planning, Thai Binh province will build a synchronous and modern urban system with Thai Binh city, taking the two banks of Tra Ly as the highlight of the urban area.

Notably, in 2030, Thai Binh will propose adding a dedicated coastal airport to the national airport and seaport system planning. In addition, the province will also ask competent authorities to open a railway line through the national railway network.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed that the planning of Thai Binh province is the concretization of the locality's development aspirations, demonstrating new thinking and vision with long-term strategic breakthroughs and orientations, helping to remove bottlenecks, reasonably allocate resources and exploit potentials and advantages.

Looking back over the past time, Thai Binh is a province with "hot" industrial development. The locality has attracted many large FDI projects, in 2023 alone, the registered FDI capital invested in Thai Binh reached 3 billion USD. The fundamental advantage of Thai Binh is the formation of an economic zone with many outstanding incentive mechanisms and policies, high competitiveness, and the access to land for businesses is also very favorable.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the planning also poses new challenges for Thai Binh. Rapid development will require a legal corridor to be ensured, and in many situations, there may not be enough time to resolve the obstacles for the institutions themselves. Therefore, localities must pay attention to compliance, flexibility, synchronization, and understanding.

At the conference, Thai Binh also granted investment approval, investment registration certificates and cooperation agreements to 9 enterprises, with a total capital of nearly 10,000 billion VND.
