Storm No. 13 caused heavy damage to local fishermen, many boats were damaged, fishing gear was swept away, directly affecting the income and lives of union members.
In order to promptly share difficulties, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has awarded 7 support gifts, each worth 2 million VND, to encourage union members to quickly overcome the damage, stabilize their livelihoods and continue to go out to sea.

Sharing at the visit, comrade Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said: "Union members, workers in general and fishermen in particular are always cared for by the Vietnam Trade Union, especially when natural disasters, storms and floods affect their livelihoods and lives. The gifts are the sharing of the Trade Union organization with the desire to give more motivation for people to overcome difficulties, feel secure to stick to the sea, and protect the fishing grounds of the Fatherland."

Mr. Nguyen Duc Phuoc, Chairman of the Xuan Dai Ward Fisheries Union, sent his thanks to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and all levels of trade unions, saying that this is a practical and timely encouragement while fishermen are making efforts to repair boats and prepare means to soon return to production.
