Promoted to the rank of Major with officer Nguyen Dang Khai

On April 18, General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security , signed a decision to promote from Senior Lieutenant to Major the rank of officer Nguyen Dang Khai (Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Ninh Provincial Police) who died while pursuing a drug trafficking group.

Previously, through the fight against the inter-provincial drug trafficking and transportation ring, at about 20:20 on April 17, 2025, in the area near Dragon Castel apartment building (in group 10, area 10, Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city), the working group of the Provincial Police led by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered and arrested 2 subjects, confiscating 16 Heroine drug cakes.

During the pursuit of the remaining suspects, the suspects used military weapons to attack the police force, causing Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai, 29 years old, of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department ( Quang Ninh Provincial Police) to be shot and killed.

On the night of April 17, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, were present to direct the plan to capture the remaining fugitives. At the same time, they visited and encouraged the families of officers who died and were injured while on duty, and directed the rapid implementation of policies and regimes for officers and soldiers.

Quang Ninh province also organized a delegation to pay respects to the funeral of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai in Phu Cu district, Hung Yen province.

Currently, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department is continuing to expand the investigation and arrest the remaining suspects. In particular, the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department has issued a wanted notice for Bui Dinh Khanh (born in 1994, residing in Group 6, Zone 1, Gieng Day Ward, Ha Long City), the suspect in the case of illegal drug trafficking in the province.
