Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized that July 14 every year has become a special occasion for the people of the two countries to honor lasting historical values, the unique cultural exchange between Europe and Asia and the friendship between Vietnam and France.

Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha affirmed that, on the basis of the good bilateral relationship between the two countries, Ho Chi Minh City is one of the most dynamic localities in promoting cooperation with France. In the new development stage, the city expects to continue to receive companionship and support from the French Government and the French business community in key areas such as digital transformation,education and training, smart infrastructure, sustainable urban development and cultural heritage preservation.
“The city is committed to creating the most favorable conditions in terms of institutions, policies and investment environment so that cooperation initiatives can be implemented practically, effectively and sustainably, in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks,” said Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha.
He also expressed his belief that, with historical foundation, political trust and effective economic ties, the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general, as well as the cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and French localities in particular, will increasingly develop, contributing positively to peace , stability and common prosperity.
At the ceremony, Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, reviewed the historical significance of July 14, 1789, marking a major event in the journey to form the French Republic. She said that in Vietnam, the French National Day is celebrated in a festive atmosphere, especially after a vibrant year in bilateral relations between the two countries.

The French Consul General highly appreciated the role of Ho Chi Minh City in bilateral relations, especially diverse cooperation activities in economics, trade, technology, artificial intelligence, education and culture.

Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser affirmed that these results are evidence of the sustainable and promising development of the France-Vietnam relationship, in which Ho Chi Minh City continues to play a leading role in local cooperation. She believes that this will be the basis for consolidating and developing the cooperative relationship between France and Vietnam in the coming time.
