Joining the jubilant atmosphere of the whole country towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the tourism industry of Ho Chi Minh City recorded a widespread response from people, businesses and tourists.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, from April 27 to May 1, 2025, the room occupancy rate at 1-5 star hotels in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City reached 95-100%. Many 4-5 star hotels were fully booked, while hotels in neighboring areas also reached 80% occupancy or more, especially during the two peak days of April 30 and May 1, many places were "fully booked."

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that this result was achieved thanks to not only stopping at accommodation services but also the hotel-restaurant system in Ho Chi Minh City proactively organizing many solemn and meaningful activities such as hanging the national flag, hanging banners to welcome the Great Ceremony at the facade and lobby area, showing propaganda images, posting messages of gratitude to history on various online platforms.

At the same time, the arrangement of the check-in area with the background image of the Independence Palace, Nha Rong Wharf or tank 390 is also loved by many tourists and widely shared on social networks.

In particular, many hotels in Ho Chi Minh City have set up areas to record feelings and arrange guestbooks for guests to write by hand, creating a quiet space where personal emotions are shared and spread.

In addition, some hotels also deploy spaces to screen documentary films about Southern Liberation Day; organize a variety of cultural experiences right on the premises (making clay figurines, writing calligraphy, or performing traditional musical instruments); display OCOP products... to serve guests.

According to the tourism and travel business community, the number of tourists choosing to depart late (from May 1-2, 2025) tends to increase, but the main trend is to stay in Ho Chi Minh City and participate in inner-city tours, journeys to the source, exploring historical spaces on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of reunification...

In addition to the popular tour products, travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City also offer many highly interactive products such as the tour themed "Exploring the Tunnels - Returning to the Land of Steel," where visitors can personally crawl into tunnels, eat rice balls, and wear soldier uniforms.

Or the city tour package combined with the activity of finding historical secrets following the imprint of old Saigon is also welcomed by young people; retail tours (buying individual services such as air tickets, hotels, tour guides) are also increasing strongly, meeting the needs of self-designing itineraries of young groups or businessmen traveling with their families.

According to some tourists coming to Ho Chi Minh City during the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the bustling festival atmosphere not only comes from professional organization but also spreads thanks to the responsible and emotional participation of Ho Chi Minh City residents.

From the team of small traders, drivers, tour guides... to the households in the central area, everyone showed a spirit of hospitality, enthusiasm and pride when welcoming tourists to the city on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification.

The concerted efforts from tourism service businesses combined with the hospitality of Ho Chi Minh City residents created a holiday on April 30 and May 1 that evoked pride and left a deep impression on domestic and foreign tourists./.
